FUNi Kai recasts stretching into games, semi-confirmed?
Colleen Clinkenbeard and Mike McFarland say so.
Not sure how "official" this is, but McFarland's been around the dub-centric Dragon Ball block a few times, so maybe?

All things considered, it's not surprising. New cast for DB series, new voices for games.

It makes the most sense. I know in Raging Blast McFarland took over as Dodoria, Todd Haberkorn as #19, and Travis Willingham as Cell, so I assume those will transfer over to Kai (well, we know it will for Cell).B wrote:Colleen Clinkenbeard and Mike McFarland say so.

Personally, I'd prefer the games be like Attack of the Saiyans, in that they have the Japanese voices (actually, I'd prefer the games all be like that game for a host of other reasons, too). But at least this means Clinkenbeard is going to be Gohan in the games, too. But what about little Goku?

Clinkenbeard will likely be voicing Kid Goku as well as she did in Kai Episode 1 during the recap of Dragon Ball.penguintruth wrote:Personally, I'd prefer the games be like Attack of the Saiyans, in that they have the Japanese voices (actually, I'd prefer the games all be like that game for a host of other reasons, too). Not if FUNi knows what's good for 'em.DB_Fan1991 wrote:Clinkenbeard will likely be voicing Kid Goku as well as she did in Kai Episode 1 during the recap of Dragon Ball.penguintruth wrote:Personally, I'd prefer the games be like Attack of the Saiyans, in that they have the Japanese voices (actually, I'd prefer the games all be like that game for a host of other reasons, too). I know Doc Morgan is set to be the Narrator in one of them coming up, I'm assuming Raging Blast 2.

I'd love to hear Clinkenbeard as little Goku, too.

Thats good, even though I always use the Japanese voice track, we'll actually get decent narrations in the English track on the DBZ games if Doc is doing the narrating.Kirbopher wrote:I know Doc Morgan is set to be the Narrator in one of them coming up, I'm assuming Raging Blast 2.
I didnt think that Dragon Ball Kai would lead to voice changes in the games, another good thing to come from Kai. (Or as a result of Kai)

I think it's good for the games to get dubs as long as it has both the English and Japanese languages as options, allows some voice work for the voice actors.

If they recycle Raging Blast 1 audio i.e. "Special Beam Cannon" it's going to make me really consider just passing it up.
I've had a taste of the good stuff and I don't wanna go back.

I was hoping the recasts would be just for Kai, but oh well.
If anything, I pray that Nadolny as Kid Goku doesn't get replaced.

Re: FUNi Kai recasts stretching into games, semi-confirmed?
Not sure why you'd think that. The dub of Kai isn't just Kai-specific. It's moving forward for the franchise in general. Certain actors are no longer available. Others were replaced. There's nothing there that specifically screams "Kai." They're just making another Dragon Ball product, moving forward from their last Dragon Ball product, with some old things and some new things. And like any other casting and dubbing decision, it will move linearly forward to the next Dragon Ball product.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:I was hoping the recasts would be just for Kai, but oh well.
That said, I can't make any logical assumption about whether or not Nadolny will be Goku or not. Clinkenbeard doing that tiny cameo in Kai might just have been because they needed a similar voice, and it wasn't important enough to bring back an actress they're not currently working with but would still bring Nadolny back for a more substantial Goku role. On the other hand, it might be because they replaced all of Nadolny's characters with Clinkenbeard, and the cameo was only a sign of things to come. On the other other hand, see my first scenario but make this minor tweak: "Clinkenbeard doing that tiny cameo in Kai might just have been because they needed a similar voice, and it wasn't important enough to hire a brand new actress for the new direction they are still deliberating to take the young version of Goku, but when a more substantial role comes up/when they've figured out where they want to go, we'll get a new actress that's neither Nadolny or Clinkenbeard."

Maybe if Funimation does a Dragon Ball Dragon Box, they'll redub the show with Colleen Clinkenbeard and Monica Rial as little Goku and Bulma, respectively.

It seems like what they said are true, I just downloaded the Dragon Ball origin's 2 demo from the Nintendo Channel and I can confirm it is definitely Colleen playing Goku. They kept Stephanie's voice for the battle cries from the first game if that pleases any of you.

Fuck. Re: FUNi Kai recasts stretching into games, semi-confirmed?
It's so eerie how much FUNimation and DBKai connect. Kai is kind of like going back and doing what they did back in the Pioneer/Ocean dub days (in a much better way of course), then changed some of its cast, FUNimation changed some of its cast, even though the original cast has been doing voices for video games every year and went back and redubbed some stuff in 2007... They just have an eerie connection somehow.
