A Chance Of A New DB Series?
This is only 100% speculation. seeing DB Kai quite a success in Japan (always in top 10 on the ratings but unfortunately never make it to top 3) and America (no.1 ratings on Nicktoons but they probably doesn't count America thought), maybe Toei will make a new DB series or maybe they make AF a reality (probably not) after DB Kai end?

If maybes were horses, then there's be a lot more horses in the world.
Anything's possible, but not everything's likely.

Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
Toei's too cheap to make a new DB series, no matter how well Kai does. TT_TT
I think Toei's also afraid of any new series ending up as another GT where it sinks after only 64 episodes. >_>
BUT, if they were neither of these, I would want something light like the recent Jump Tour special that takes place during one of the time skips; preferably the one used for the Jump Tour special--the 10 years inbetween Buu and Uub--but I'd like it to be several years after that so I could have teen Trunks and teen Goten. I also really liked the fun side of Goku and Vegeta's rivalry in that special, so more of that too.

Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
The reason Gt gets such a bad rap is because there was a huge lack of action and the animation was bluntly rushed and lazy and the crappiest of all the shows history. Just look at ANY time Kid Goku shoots a kamehameha while 'in space' or on an alien planet, they make his fingers tiny little nubs with no knuckles or anything. Also at the tournament theres a pan across like 6 characters faces licking a lollipop and they ALL have the very same eyes.
Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
The reason Kai exists is because they do not want to do a new series after the big fiasco GT became.
Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
I would love it if they filled us in on what happened in between Z and GT, but there probably wouldn't be a lot of action, so maybe they could make it a mini-series of some sort.

Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
I would rather they do 1 or 2 movies a year after Kai finishes, actually
Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
From the looks of things, we got Kai instead of a new series.
Because Toei is cheap, and like Funimation with the Orange Bricks, they know people will eat this shit up anyway. Weep.

Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
The biggest problem with GT is that it was so unnecessary. There really wasn't anywhere else to take these characters. Enough already. There's plenty of material as it is.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

I can't agree more with this. There's 508 episodes when you combine all 3 series. 4 DB movies, 13 DBZ movies, 3 TV specials and 2 OVAs. We really don't need anymore at all. If that's not enough for you to rewatch for the rest of your life you need to take a few trips outside.penguintruth wrote: Enough already. There's plenty of material as it is.

Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
You can do PLENTY with the characters after Z:
Without Goku, what;s Vegeta going to do?
Goten and Trunks desperately need to power up, they got left behind in the power department.
How is Gohan handling being the strongest?
How did Uub handle different part of his training?
What was up with Tien and Yamcha, and Krillin's family?

Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
I have to disagree, Toriyama created a world full possibilities and characters (if done right) who can hold up an interesting story/adventure of their own. GT was bad because it was poorly written. It was ridding off the success of Z and Toei thought the cashcow would last little bit longer as long as Goku was the star.penguintruth wrote:The biggest problem with GT is that it was so unnecessary. Perhaps I'm being biased because as a fan I would love nothing more than watch a new DB series. But I think it's doable, ain't gonna happen but doable.

Agreed. The problem with so many bloated franchises today is that they just don't know when to end, or, more specifically, that those holding the reigns continue to love to beat a dead horse hoping that its spastic twitching might cause more money to rain down from the sky.Blue wrote:I can't agree more with this. There's 508 episodes when you combine all 3 series. 4 DB movies, 13 DBZ movies, 3 TV specials and 2 OVAs. Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
I think it would be cool if they made a series around the world envisioned in Dragon Ball Online.
However, do I think it would happen and/or am holding out hope for it? No. Then again, I never expected Gundam Unicorn - the novel - to ever get animated, and here we are looking at an OVA. I guess it could happen, but it's not very likely. Regardless, I'm on the bandwagon that believe Dragon Ball as a story has come to an end anyway, it just seems complete as it is now.

I don't want to "rewatch" it, I want a new story!Blue wrote:I can't agree more with this. There's 508 episodes when you combine all 3 series. 4 DB movies, 13 DBZ movies, 3 TV specials and 2 OVAs. Are you really not satisfied with 508 episodes and 17 movies? This series ended like 4 times already.Goku100xKamehameha wrote:I don't want to "rewatch" it, I want a new story!Blue wrote:I can't agree more with this. There's 508 episodes when you combine all 3 series. 4 DB movies, 13 DBZ movies, 3 TV specials and 2 OVAs. (Is Path to Power a movie? I was never clear on that.)

I'll satisfied when a DB series completely made with new arts
Re: A Chance Of A New DB Series?
Technically that would be a remake of an existing series not a new one wouldn't it? That I guess I wouldn't mind as much. At least it wouldn't contain dumb shit like Vegeta's long lost brother.Goku100xKamehameha wrote:I'll satisfied when a DB series completely made with new arts
