DBZKai in Australia

Post by Piccolo Daimaoh » Mon Jun 07, 2010 1:03 am

I already posted this in the "recent Dragon Ball purchases thread", but I wanted to re-post it here in the Kai forum.

DBZKai is being released in Australia on the 18th of August and as usual it will be sub-licensed by Madman.

Here's the link for anyone down under who wants to pre-order it.

Good news! I may not l live in Australia, but it's good that it's being released there so soon so even more people can experience the much more accurate dub. :)

Found this out a while ago but it's good to have an official listing. I hope Madman doesn't screw this one up some how as I really like the mini boxset packaging on the US release. I also noticed that it's a little overpriced I mean $60 for 13 episodes? Come on! The season sets were better value for money! :x can't wait to get it though! :D

Nope. Madman doesn't see the financial benefits in licensing the Dragon Boxes. The Season Sets are still in stores and selling decently, considering they've been out for quite a while.

Why would a Madman Dragon Box Matter? I just pulled my DBox off the shelf, and it's already Region 4.

It doesn't matter to me personally, but it matters to Madman from a financial point of view.

The guy I emailed also said people might get confused between the season sets andthe Dragon Box which I can understand. Also, just while we're on the topic of non-Kai Madman releases they may not be releasing Dragon Ball Movie One if there's nothing significantly different about the release. Oh yeah, they're not releasing Dragon Ball Remastered either

I can understand why. The Fat Packs are really good value. They only cost about $100 and you get half the series plus one of the movies.

Are you sure? Because I have the fat packs and I'm not finding a movie on them.

EDIT: Never mind, it's under "extras" on the first disk. I never really look at the bonus features on DVDs. It's Movie 1, BTW.

Just noticed something in the 'Selling Points' paragraph. It says it's been/being broadcasted on Channel 10 in Cartoon Network. Are they referring to Kai or Z?

Ocean dub, as in the one that aired in Canada and the UK or the Saban one.

What about 123-291? Funi or ocean?

FUNi. In Australia we got the Ocean/Saban dub for seasons 1 and 2 and the FUNimation in house dub for season 3 onwards.

Madman added the trailer to their listing. I noticed belos the video there was a listing for 'DBZKai Collection 6' which is due for release on the 10/10/11. I clicked on it but it said the listing wasn't available. At least we got a release date. :P

If Madman released the Dragon Box, it would be more expensive anyway, and probably be in a less attractive fatpack case.

Plus, I love getting American DVDs in the mail.... it feels so.... special.
