Why Toriyama Doesn't Want Continue Dragon Ball Again?
I know he said he's exhausted, that's why he's stop the series but it's already 15 years now from when he stop the series. so why he doesn't continue it?
Re: Why Toriyama Doesn't Want Continue Dragon Ball Again?
Because he lost interest in it long before it was over and he hasn`t regained it.

Re: Why Toriyama Doesn't Want Continue Dragon Ball Again?
Dragon Ball has such a strong following with how good it is by itself now, he probably doesn't want to write a sequel only for people to dislike it and talk about how it doesn't live up to the original.

I'm glad he didn't continue it to be honest. I don't want to be 45 years old watching new episodes of Dragon Ball. I'm already feeling like Kai is a bit overkill with me being 22 and watching Nick Toons for them.

LMAO I'm sure AT took your feelings into consideration. LOL But seriously, yeah, where else could he go anyway? The way the characters age, they'd all be ancient by the time the 4th new saga or so would be over. GT kinda fixed the problem by making most of the series take place in a year, hell the Super 17 and Dark Dragon saga took place in like 2 days real-time. And making stuff like SSJ 5 and 6 would just be completely ridiculous.TheGreatness25 wrote:I'm glad he didn't continue it to be honest. Also, if AT introduced new characters, it wouldn't be the same. When Yugioh ended, they brought out some other bullsh*t with new characters. I think it was called Yugioh GX, or was that Beyblade? Anyways, it wasn't even half as good as the original. Btw, that's just my opinion, I'm sure others think the opposite.
But, to be fair, I wouldn't mind a new series. AF sounds good enough for me.

It was Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. And it's so bad it's so good to make fun at. Especially with Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds with trading card games ON MOTORBIKES!! The good thing about it is bringing new characters and new settings to keep it fresh... unlike Pokemon, where they stick with the same goddamn characters with no changes at all in plot nor story.jordanator wrote:Yeah, if he were to continue, the characters would be old.

Digimon is coming back, but it's after a three years and a quarter on nothing new from the franchise.

I wouldn't mind new characters. But a new series with descendant characters, it would be kind of, plot hole-sy. For example, there probably wouldn't be a lot of saiyans, as most of the saiyans are dead (apart from the Z fighters etc., who may be dead). And unless there are completely new saiyans, they (the descendants) probably wouldn't be able to turn Super saiyan as they probably won't be at least half saiyan. Of course, GT has Goku and Vegeta Jr., who are supposedly 1/16th saiyan. Yet, they can still transform.SHINOBI-03 wrote:It was Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. And it's so bad it's so good to make fun at. Re: Why Toriyama Doesn't Want Continue Dragon Ball Again?
He doesn't want to continue it because he's retired. As it is, his newer one-shots are years in-between and not even drawn by him at all; they're drawn by his old (was he his first ever?) assistant, the guy who drew Zetman.
Though to be fair, a spin-off/next gen sequel to Dragonball written by Toriyama and drawn by his assistant would make for an epic martial arts one-shot. DOOOOOO WANT!

Re: Why Toriyama Doesn't Want Continue Dragon Ball Again?
You don't have to be at least half Saiya-jin to go SSJ as Pan was said to have the potential to, just never did, and Goku jr. and Vegeta jr. were both able to with even less Saiya-jin blood. Besides, Super Saiya-jin isn't a requirement, anyway. Dragonball did just fine without it for quite a while, after all. And there wouldn't be any plot holes just because it focuses on the descendants and the old cast is dead.jordanator wrote:I wouldn't mind new characters. Anyway, I'd love a DBO anime.

Continuing Dragonball would be dumb. I just wish he would write some kind of new manga. A new series, a one-shot, or something...

Well that's what Akira Toriyama said, that you have to be at least half saiyan, or something like that. I never said Dragon Ball didn't do fine without Super saiyans, I'm sure Dragon Ball is brilliant (I haven't seen it yet).Xyex wrote:You don't have to be at least half Saiya-jin to go SSJ as Pan was said to have the potential to, just never did, and Goku jr. and Vegeta jr. were both able to with even less Saiya-jin blood. Well that's a plot hole right there if Toriyama actually did say that saiyans had to be at least half saiyan, which, I think I read online somewhere (sorry if I'm wrong).
Anyway, if they were to introduce new characters, I'd love to see more/new saiyans.

He didn't. All he ever said on the matter was that he couldn't decide what a female SSJ would like like, so he never designed one.jordanator wrote:Well that's what Akira Toriyama said, that you have to be at least half saiyan, or something like that. EDIT:
Copied this from Dragon ball wiki on Goku Jr.:
Goku Jr.'s appearance strongly resembles the original Goku (similar to Goten's former resemblance to Goku), down to his signature hairstyle. He is only seen once in the series in the last episode of Dragon Ball GT, fighting in what is later said to be the 64th World Martial Arts Tournament against a distant descendant of Vegeta's, Vegeta Jr. Both characters are able to achieve Super Saiyan, even though it was stated by Toriyama that anyone without over a quarter Saiyan heritage couldn't achieve the form due to their heritage being too diluted in the Daizenshuu published long before Goku Jr.'s appearance. Goku Jr. gi resembles Goku's, with the exception of having blue pants and a teal shirt underneath his vest (though in the finale of Dragon Ball GT, he wore Goku's preserved, ancient gi). Goku Jr.'s hair is in the same style, shape and form of Goku's. He has black hair and black eyes (though they appear to have a dark blue tint when he's emotional, possibly as a reference to his great-grandmother Videl having blue eyes). Goku Jr.'s skin mostly resembles his great grandfather Gohan's skin color. Also, Goku Jr. wears a headband similar to the one Bardock his great great great grandfather was seen wearing.
Anyway...I was half right.

That's your problem right there. That wiki's full of made up nonsense.jordanator wrote:Dragon ball wiki
Pretty sure he never said anything of the sort. This rumor seems to stem from a mistranslated line from one of the Daizenshuus.even though it was stated by Toriyama that anyone without over a quarter Saiyan heritage couldn't achieve the form due to their heritage being too diluted

Except that he never said any such thing. Bussani's right, and Herms has already provided the proper translation for that bit. It's never stated that you need to have so much Saiya-jin blood (other than needing some) to be able to go Super Saiya-jin.jordanator wrote:Oh well, apologies, I was sure I read it somewhere.

Also, do not believe what is on DB Wikia. They make up a lot of information, take a lot of fanon as fact, etc. (The "WTO" being a huge example of both.) So you may have been right about reading it somewhere, but that's it.
