Thinking about selling my DVD

Post by LeprikanGT » Mon Jun 21, 2010 11:58 pm

I've recently been thinging about selling my DVDs [the singles]; DragonBall, Z, GT, and all the movies. [Every Funi release minus 2 Db 2 disc sets]

Collection 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yOM7edjNjU
Collection 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6gLCilD5lE

With the Bricksets and the steelcase double features and the DragonBoxes along with Z Kai, I feel like its time that I can let go of the singles; but my problem is with all these new releases I'm not sure who would want to buy them. You could imagine the RIDICULOUS ammount of money I've spent on all of them [most bought at release date] and I'm sure no reasonable offers are out there. [19.99 now seems beyond outragious for ONE dvd with 3 episodes a piece]

So I figure this is the best place out there with the most DVD fans to get an opinion on how I should handle the situation as to selling them and taking a huge loss in money, try selling off individual discs for people filling their collection, or just keep them up on m shelf. Also just curious if anyone else out there has the complete set of single the whole series through, with the movies?

I don't really know.

I was going to see what the best offer was and seeing if I was willing to let them go for that; because I'm wanting to get rid of all of DB/Z/GT/all the movies in which ever way would be more beneficial [one whole lot or broken up] and also don't want to sell part of them and just have a bunch of random DVDs sitting around.

I've already got the VHS going out so I'm a bti hopeful for the DVD singles. I'm just running out of room for them.

I wouldn't sell them. Unless you just plain out need the money then it's understandable, but that collection is huge, and one day you'll love it more than now. And honestly I don't think you would make more than about $1,000.

Thats sort of the number i had in my head or anything even remotely near that.

I DO love that I have THAT much of the show just its pushing all of the newer nicer stuff to the edge of the shelf and I like looking at that stuff move.

The shipping on at that would be crazy as well. I'm having to ship someone 54 pounds worth of DB/Z/GT VHS that was a pretty penny too.

Why don't you just put it in a big box and keep it in you're closet or somewhere? Unless you don't have any room to keep it there. I have all the American singles too, but I see no real reason in losing the money to sell them all unless I absolutely need it. At this point, with all the US DBoxes coming out, I look at the singles as something nostalgic. I'm sure you have memories of collecting all those DVD's through out the years too. It was a lot harder to collect since there were so many of them.

Another thing is that if you decide to get rid of them now, there's no going back and attaining them all again. It's possible, but it would be extremely difficult, and may even cost you more money. They're not as easy to attain as the DBoxes or Kai is right now.

Heh, so you're finally deciding to let go of that big-ass collection?

I would personally sell the Season Sets (Whoever will buy them) and keep the Singles, as they are going to be harder to get down the line.
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

I have the same issue, and I decided to just keep the singles. For the trouble it would take to sell them, and the amount of money I'd lose, I would rather just have an epic (albiet pointless) collection.

I'm thinking of selling my season sets myself. Gotta save up for Dragon Box 4 in September. :)
Any idea how much one could make off of them?

I would love to get the DBZ singles. It'd be nice to have so I can spot check the dub for people, since the dub on those sets is different than the one on the "season" sets. Plus, I wanna hear Dale Kelly 'cause I can't remember what he sounded like. But alas, I'm broke. :(

You know, as much as I would like to sell my season sets... I wouldn't because I'd feel ripped off since I bought them all. I still have a Fusion Saga DVD single disc, Bojack Unbound and Fusion Reborn singles and I would never sell them, they just mean a lot to me... plus they have all the music and audio options.

So in short, Leprikan... buddy, if I were you I'd keep those singles. :)

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"
