Chance that the Gohan SSJ2 Scene Will Spirit VS Spirit?

I was wondering, what are the chances that when Kai gets around to animating the scene where Gohan first goes SSJ2 that they might keep the song Spirit VS Spirit?

I know this is sort of a long-shot, but maybe as an homage to DBZ?

The series hasn't kept "Shura-iro no Senshi" or "Battle Point Unlimited" and I doubt it'll keep "Mind Power"... not a great track-record to indicate otherwise.

I guess I don't mind them changing it, and they most likely will, but hot damn it's going to take something impressive to top SvS.

So that explains why it wasn't included, it was filler.

As for the other songs..perhaps there were license issues? Either way, hope they pick a better song replacement if they decide so.

Zero, I'd say. They wanted to completely make over the show's music, and that's what they're doing.

I'm guessing it'll either be a different insert song (hopefully a new one) or just some BGM.

I'm expecting to be disappointed. There is no greater moment in DB anime than Gohan's explosion into SSJ2, and the song is part of what makes it so amazing.

Anyway to answer to question, no I don't think Spirit vs Spirit will be left in which is a damn shame. There was no other moment in DBZ where the image and music blended so well. Beautiful.

Did you not understand my post? Was it worded ambiguously? I simply said that I hope Toei Animation puts a better insert song than "Spirit vs. Spirit" for Gohan's SS2 transformation scene in DBKai.

Yes, your post was worded ambiguously. *I* took it to mean that you hoped they used better insert songs in Kai than what they had been using in that series so far ("Over the Star", etc.). With such an overwhelming majority of fans enjoying "Unmei no Hi", yes, your post was ambiguous and confusing without further clarification. If you can't be bothered to explain yourself up front, you're going to continuously run into situations where you feel the need to be defensive and dramatic about clarifying yourself later on. Why not just nip it in the bud ahead of time and end this nonsense?

Sorry about that. I thought when I said "this time around" it was clear that I meant Gohan's SS2 transformation in DBKai.

Oh, it was Unmei No Hi you were talking about.
Um, I dunno man, that song is pretty incredible when combined with the Super Saiyan 2 sequence, I really can't see anything wrong with it.
The lyrics are (relatively :p) appropriate, the tune itself is a suspenseful build up to the big moment, Kageyama cutting in to the usual Kikuchi score really amplifies the feeling of "oshitz" these scene offers, and well.... it's Kageyama, he really knows how to sell the moment, the guy has a really powerful voice.
This, along with Battle Point Unlimited, is my favourite moment of the Dragon Ball Z anime.
Kai won't do it justice, sadly.

Hopefully when they get around to scoring that scene they'll remember how awesome it was in DBZ and choose an awesome song for it. I won't throw a fit if it isn't as good as SvS because that's really hard to top, but hopefully they at least do it justice considering how important the scene is. It is the pinnacle of Gohan's story, afterall.

One of those was from a filler scene that isn't in Kai and the other is largely plagiarized and could draw a lawsuit, there are legitimate reasons neither of those were used. Having said that, I agree that they probably won't keep Spirit vs. Spirit, since Kai seems to be doing it's own thing with the music instead of drawing from Z.

Right. I think it's safe to assume that since Kai isn't using Z's BGM, it won't use it's insert songs either.
