Dragon Ball Movies - AB Groupe English Dub / "Big Green" Dub

Post by linkdude20002001 » Sun Aug 08, 2010 2:11 pm

Thanks to oXdanXo, we can now watch and enjoy (?) AB Groupe's English dub of the very first Dragon Ball movie, The Legend of Shenron!

Part two should be ready soon.

He's also got DB movies 2 and 3, DBZ movies 10~13, and the DBGT TV special. Plus the actual episodes.

To extract the RAR files, you must download something like WinRAR, and also, the RAR files must be in the same location. All you have to do is extract the file from the first RAR, then you'll have the contents of both! :D

How so? It hasn't been released on any type of home format whatsoever. Super rare dubs like this have been posted before and Mike was fine with it.

Here's my review (so far)

-Narrator has Turles's voice from DBZ movie 3 it seems
-The Dragon Balls are called Crystal Balls, but Bulma said Dragon Balls once.
-Makafushigi Adventure is cut down to 30 seconds
-Bulma sounds like she's from New York
-Goku sounds terrible as well
-At least Pasta, Oolong, Yamcha & Puar's voices are decent.
-The script seems terrible

Overall this dub is really bad, but gets points for having the original music unlike BLT Productions' dub.

Huh? I only thought they dubbed the first couple of DragonBall Z movies?

Nice find. Too bad this wasn't released on DVD. If you have the other DB movies, I'd love to have them.

I'm pretty sure oXdanXo has the other two DB movies as well. He's in the process of uploading the rest of the first one right now though.

You need both rar files in the same directory. Then try and unrar part 1; part 2 should automatically, and the two files will become one. The movie file that is, not the rar files.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
If we can post links to unrealeased dubs, does that mean we can post the 108-276 Ocean/Westwood dub?

Probably, but that's a lot more content, so... Maybe not. I'd ask VegettoEX if I were you.

Toonami was awesome, WHY DID THEY HAVE TO REPLACE DBZ WITH PARKER LEWIS CAN'T LOSE?!?!
/nerdrage

Also, What ever happened to Welcome Car Finance? Remember when films like The Magic Roundabout and Madagascar had just come out? And why aren't channels pressuring us to push the red button anymore?

Never watching old adverts again

I'd rather watch the Filipino English dub for DBZ movie 6. I've seen movie 5's, but I'm curious as to how Vegeta sounds, and he doesn't appear in the movies until 6.

In fact, I would pay money to have the Creative Products Corp English dubs on DVD.

If Dragon Ball Z Kai begins to air in the UK at some point, I hope they'll release more of these dubs on DVD, even just the ones that came out in the Netherlands would be awesome, they're such a pleasure to listen to for giggles or for a different look at the anime in English.

EDIT: Wow, this is worse than usual, and there's only a few funny lines in it... MAGIC BAR, GET LONG!

Out yeah and Muten-Rushi/Crafty Turtle (Or was it Crouching Turtle?)
