The color of the water on Namek?

Post by MetalMadness » Thu Dec 09, 2010 12:07 pm

I noticed that many times we see that the water color on Namek is both blue, and green. My question is if this is just a mistake on Toei's part? It seems to happen way too often to really be a mistake..

That's just an artistic style... water is transparent, it can be both blue or green if these are the ground/sky colors...

I thought it was always green. When is it blue? Do you know the specific scenes?

I think there is only one instance in where Vegeta fights Recoome.
Vegeta tosses him into a far away mountain, as Recoome flies towards it, the water is the same color as the grass. Blue.

I always thought that the color of the water was from the reflection of the scenery.
I mean, most of Namek's landscape is colored blue and green.

Think about our own planet. The water is NOT blue, lol.
It is simply a reflection of the sky.

Well what comes to mind right now would be the scenes where Dodoria is searching for Gohan and Krillin, and flies above the water, or the scene where Zarbon threw Vegeta into the water, or the scene where Freeza threw Vegeta into the water and then landed on a rock and raised the water above him, you know the one where he goes down to eat the crab?

You are both very wrong. Water absorbs red light, so its natural color is blue.

The water is still green but when Freeza moves the water and it splashes all around it becomes more of a blue color. Here, I'll show you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP9IzXxVYpI
All in all, it's still green, you can see the puddles.

Usually because of the algae in the water. Water itself is blue.

Water itself isn't blue, it's transparent. How the water looks to us has to do with the absorption and scattering of the blue and red light.

"Water is very slightly blue in color."
