Have you regretted not getting something DragonBall related?
As the topic says, it's self explanatory. Me, I found the DVD single "Pendulum Room" of the old Ocean dub but didn't buy it since it was $10 and it was new and I never had the money when I wanted it. Then, my Saturday Matinée was going to close down so those DVD's were 50% off. They didn't have that single that I saw but they did have "The Saiyans" which was the same price but I got the discount so I got it anyways. So, maybe it wasn't a huge disappointment but I would've liked to get that other single too.

Back when Suncoast used to exist and when DBZ was really really big, they had an entire wall in the back full of figures.
I really wanted the Goku-angel, but being really young I didn't have a job and thus enough disposable income to buy it.
Though I'm not sure if it looked as cool as I remember it looking...
EDIT: Googled it. Yup, the wings still look really nice but the figure itself is not as cool as I thought. I did see some really cute keychain version though.

Odd, my Suncoast is still at a different mall that I go to. When did Suncoast go out of business for everywhere but this mall I go to?Chuquita wrote:Back when Suncoast used to exist and when DBZ was really really big, they had an entire wall in the back full of figures.

OT: Was the angel Goku really good looking. Even if you found it now, I'm sure you'd need a lot for it.

Just found it online; the wings still look really nice, but the figure itself is not so hot. :\ShadowDude112 wrote:Odd, my Suncoast is still at a different mall that I go to. Pretty sure it's this guy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006 ... X5FA3QF8Q1
I'm sure it looked much cooler to me back in the day.
How I wish my Suncoast was still around! Or at least Zapp Comics! I bought some really fun Banpresto DB stuff from them when they used to have a shop at a local mall.
It's been so long since I've bought a neat DB toy because all the brick-and-mortar places I used to go to have since closed; I should just bite the bullet and try shopping for something online.

I remember back in the fall of 2003 when I was starting my first quarter at the University, there used to be DVD vendors and they had a bunch of anime dvds. I spotted Dragon Ball Z - Saiyan Box Set DVD 2001 8-Disc Set for $20 bucks, but I was dumb not to buy it at such a bargain. I still kick myself to this day in not getting it.

Re: Have you regretted not getting something DragonBall rela
I was hyped for original Dragon Boxes since 2005, but after I discovered how much expensive the Japanese DVD's are (you can get some shows from TOEI, 4-8 episodes per disc for 250 dollars!!!!), I simply lost my interest.
It's not unreachable and Japan have the same region as Europe, only barrier is that I didn't mastered the Japanese yet,
to the ''fluent'' extent. So I regret a little that I didn't got'em earlier, but I didn't have full work as a student, so my financial reserves were limited and not reaching the price of DBox. And now, you know in my age when I'm living with GF in my own flat in centre of capitol city (With huge rent, but awesome place for living under the Prague castle), having some responsibilities and such and my fee at work is quite good - It's madness for me to buy a DVD set this expensive! GF will think that I'm completely idiot alongside bunch of people who know me and I will spend a huge amount of money, that I can spend on better things......
So when US boxes were released, I bought the first and after that, I wanted to sell it (maybe I'm only one in this comunity to get rid of it), because as we in Europe are the same DVD region as Japan, we are not with US, so Dragon Box is unplayable in my country almost everywhere, only on my PC and I wanted primarily to watch it on TV and I'm a practic man, so I hate to buy something to buy more things (in this case region free player) to get it working.
So I regret not to gettin' Japanese Dragon Box and regret that I bought the US one.

You can find region free DVD players very cheap for sale these days. Its actually a pretty good investment because, if the language doesn't bother you, then, all of the sudden, all of the DVDs that are sold in the USA become available to you (including the dragon boxes). Its actually much cheaper than considering buying the JAP Dragon Boxes.MCDaveG wrote: So when US boxes were released, I bought the first and after that, I wanted to sell it (maybe I'm only one in this comunity to get rid of it), because as we in Europe are the same DVD region as Japan, we are not with US, so Dragon Box is unplayable in my country almost everywhere, only on my PC and I wanted primarily to watch it on TV and I'm a practic man, so I hate to buy something to buy more things (in this case region free player) to get it working.

1. The cooler double feature when it was £15 on DVD then I ended up giving amazon.ca £25 for it in November and they still haven't dispatched it, with no stock left and I can't buy it anywhere, I get more desperate every day, but I'm not going to let myself drop a bomb for this.
2. Dragon Ball Raging blast Limited edition £23 from shopto, although I ended up ordering it from another site for more money a few days ago.
3. My cousin was working in Japan a while ago and if I knew that the small WCF (In particular the Goku and Chi Chi wedding ones) and HSCF figures were in cranes, I would have asked her to get most of them, since I disagree with paying close to £25 a figure on ebay when you would get one from one of those machines for a few quid.
4. The Vizbigs, I had the chance to get them for £6 each, bought about half, then the price doubled and I still haven't got the rest of them.
5. Dragon Ball Z budokai 3 special edition PAL version, I saw this for £5 in used but nearly new condition, went to get look at some DVDs came back to buy it and it was gone
AHHHH, BAD TIMES!!!

Re: Have you regretted not getting something DragonBall rela
This is not much about the money as it is about ''bother''. I'm quite busy and everything requiring something extra is pain in the ass for me. As it is not enough that because of this damned and boring country of mine, I must import EVERYTHING, because marketplace isn't as huge as for example in Germany and only bits/5% of succesful series and franchises are coming here. I was also forced to purchase the UK release of the latest Star Wars DVD sets for god's sake. Star Wars is something you have EVERYWHERErereboy wrote:You can find region free DVD players very cheap for sale these days. I also regretted to not getting Nintendo DS after GBA. I was skeptical about this console and after bunch of DB game releases which were quite good from what I saw reviews, this console got too old for me to buy.
Looks like I'm slowpoke always missing the right times.
I'm not much of a retro guy and don't wanna risk the same thing as I bought Game Boy Color as a kid years ago and half year after that, companies stopped to making games for it and I remember how I got pissed off buying GBA with GBC ready to get leave it in trash.
I'm planning now to get Raging Blast 2 on XBOX, so I hope I won't be forced to create topic called Have you ever regretted to get something......... ?

If you haven't already, try looking up the model of DVD player you already own. Chances are you probably have one that requires a code to access it.

Re: Have you regretted not getting something DragonBall rela
I used to regret not being able to get the JP Dragon Boxes because I had chances to get all of them (the movies one is the only one I succeeded in getting, but sold it). But thanks to the US ones being released. I'm glad I waited although we still have no confirmation of DB, GT, and the movies.
However, I do regret not picking up a used DBGT Final Bout back in 1998 before I got into the series. I could have paid my college tuition (well, maybe gotten my dreamcast for free rather than paying for it) back in the day.

Re: Have you regretted not getting something DragonBall rela
I do regret not keeping most of my old Super Battle Collection figures still in the original Japanese box. I gave them away to a friend for his birthday a long time ago, but I especially miss them since we haven't spoken in 6 years. D'oh!
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Re: Have you regretted not getting something DragonBall rela
Every. Single. Day.
There's just too much stuff for me to list that I regret not buying. For instance, the Dragon ball frying pan.

I regret not buying some of the pre-Z Dragon Ball volumes a while ago at Waterstones. I ended up saving to get the Z volumes instead, even though I knew the general story anyway (but didn't know the full story of pre-Z). When I went back to get the pre-Z volumes, only the first three volumes (which I already had) were left and the rest were Z. So I had to order the rest of pre-Z (Vol. 4, 5 & 6) and now I have to save a fuckload of money to buy the remaining volumes via VizBigs on Amazon.
I'll likely have all the money I need to buy the VizBigs on Amazon next week, but I'm still annoyed that I didn't buy them back when I had the chance.

I will probably end up resenting myself for not picking up at least one DBOX. Oh, poverty, you strike again.

How much were you paying for the individual volumes? Atm they're all about £3 from various sites, you just have to search Play, priceminister, amazon, etc. I've been getting the vizbigs for £6 each off Priceminister, untill they went up to £10 a while back.Piccolo Daimao wrote:I regret not buying some of the pre-Z Dragon Ball volumes a while ago at Waterstones. I was paying £6 for each individual volume, and I think a used Dragon Ball VizBig 3 is from £7.50, plus £2.80 delivery. All the shops and online retailers I've been on have it at £6 or £7.oXdanXo wrote:How much were you paying for the individual volumes?
