I was actually just coming here to post this. I had no idea what it's origins were. I only knew it was the strangest, most Japanese thing I had ever seen involving Dragon Ball.

Also, where is that Grandpa Gohan animation from? Is that fan-made? Is it from that telephone game with Trunks' time machine?
