Is the Ocean dub of Dead Zone accurate?
Is the Ocean dub of Dead Zone accurate?
I know this is probably a stupid question but is the Ocean script accurate to the original?, I've seen Amazon Reviews that say it's accurate.

I *think* most people would agree that those dubs of the first three Z movies is as accurate a dub as English DB has *ever* gotten. So, yeah, it's pretty accurate.

Re: Is the Ocean dub of Dead Zone accurate?
They're not as completely accurate as the subs on the DBZ Singles, Bricks, and DBox but they're pretty close! Any inaccuracies are pretty trivial and the overall accuracy of the dub far outweighs whatever those inaccuracies are. To put it short, it's the only DBZ dub I'll watch (excluding Kai).
Speaking of which, I've heard of these inaccuracies but I never got actual examples of them. I'm sure someone who comes across this thread can fill in those gaps for me.

The only problem with Ocean's handling of those movies are the added sound effects.

Are those sounds really a problem though? I find that they fit even more so than the silence in the original. They're more of a minor bonus for me.penguintruth wrote:The only problem with Ocean's handling of those movies are the added sound effects.

It's a problem to some people. I don't ever really notice them. That's just me, though.NeoKING wrote:Are those sounds really a problem though? Actually, I hardly notice them, myself. But still, added sound effects is still pretty lame.
If only I could have the Ocean dub over Dragon Box footage without the added sound effects.

The dub script is excellent. The "added sound effects" are a few Hanna-Barbara-ish comical cues that barely pop up more than three or four times through the entire movie.
Re: Is the Ocean dub of Dead Zone accurate?
But yeah, this had to be one of the best dubs I've ever seen. I think World Strongest's dub was even better though, by a very small margin ... Actually, I'm probably saying that just because I like the movie more. Nah, Gohan's dub voice in that film was nothing short of spectacular.
