Most Misplaced Music
For me its gotta be Bruce Falconers score playing in the SSJ Goku vs Freeza battle. Goku is furious and is facing his strongest opponent yet and the whole planet is about to blow up. Slow Synth Music just doesn't fit with the mood. 2nd would have to be Mezase Tenkaichi playing in the Piccolo Daimao fight in Sparking Meteor Goku is going up his against arch enemy who killed his best friend and his master. Mezase Tenkaichi just doesn't fit with the moment. IMO the music from the US version is much more fitting.

Every piece of Japanese music.

Oh, please. If you folks aren't willing to have a conversation, please don't even bother posting. How petty.

I'm not very familiar with the dub score (not American, did not grow up with that dub, have zero interest in said dub), so I'll just state a moment from the Japanese version:ringworm128 wrote:For me its gotta be Bruce Falconers score playing in the SSJ Goku vs Freeza battle. - Near the end of DBZ Movie 2, Gohan and Piccolo are flying into the space to attack Dr. Uirō... to totally upbeat happy music. What the hell.
- The second insert song in Z, don't remember the name at the moment. The one that plays while Trunks is flashing back to his apocalyptic, dark future. Song's not gloomy enough for the moment, imo.
- Not in the Japanese version, but... "Step into the Grand Tour" over "Don't you see!"'s animation in the ending sequence to the GT TV Special's dub-with-broadcast-music track in the GT Season Sets. You can't get any more "unfitting" than that.

The music that plays, in the japanese version, when perfect form Cell powers up, and the entire earth thinks that the end of the world is here.

And for real, this topic is full of bias, and you know what does it leads to. A War

Re: Most Misplaced Music
I was shocked when I later found that this original "hero" theme came from a scene when Ginyu was powering up in Goku's body(something like that) and the "sadness" (aka Final Atonement) theme was originally written for a scene when Goku was winning vs the Ginyu force (or Ginyu himself, I've forgotten which). Seemed completely backwards to me.
btw, that "hero" moment embedded into the "Imperfect Cell Theme" was there because Krillin showed up to save these two kids who were being chased by Cell. That track really isn't Imp. Cell's theme...just some music used for him early on.

Re: Most Misplaced Music
Goku smashing through Lord Slug's gut. I never liked the piece that was used there, way too happy.
Another one is 'Heoric Face-off' during a very desperate moment. Gohan's arm is screwed and he's ready to give up, Vegeta and Trunks are down, and Cell is stronger than ever...."Hey, I got a good idea! Let's play some heroic music."

Re: Most Misplaced Music
Gotenks' super saiyan 3 transformation, I really like the music Faulconer used for that scene, but the original had this happy-fun type music playing, which I didn't like.
Re: Most Misplaced Music
I believe that specific BGM also played when Gotenks as a SSJ was testing out his power on Earth, when Gohan went Ultimate and when Vegetto was formed.Codarik wrote:Gotenks' super saiyan 3 transformation, I really like the music Faulconer used for that scene, but the original had this happy-fun type music playing, which I didn't like.
And I fully agree with you.
