Short filler scenes you love.
I'm not talking about filler stories, or anything like that... just small scenes that you think add a little something special to the series.
One of my favourites would have to be when everyone is training for the Artificial Humans, and Goku, Piccolo and Gohan are sparring... there's that part where the old rivalry is ignited between Piccolo and Goku, and they're loving the chance to fight again, to the point of leaving Gohan out.

Krillin throwing a rock at Goku while he's sleeping and then him getting pretty pissed off about it. Priceless!
Re: Short filler scenes you love.
I dig some of the extra Piccolo training Gohan stuff from the anime. Not all of it, since it goes on for a long while, but especially in Kai, it seems like Piccolo essentially goes:
Piccolo: I'm going to train you!
_ Next episode _
Piccolo: You're trained!
And it really devalues Gohan's struggle when the pacing is cut down like that so much.

Damn there is a whole bunch for me, but just out of the top of my head:
-Yamcha's short lived baseball career together with that scene where he meats Bulma for the first time after their break up before Z
-Bulma's reaction to seeing Yamcha die on TV ( the way she wipes her forehead than grabs her colar and starts to tremble slightly and then shakes her head in denial when Roshi starts to comfort her - very powerful and emotional moment, at least for me )
-The additional scenes during that break when they thought they had defeated Frieza
- the flashback of Piccolo pating Gohan on the head while he was sleeping -I'm torn between thinking that was a bit OOC for him and thinking it was a nice addition
- Piccolo's speach to Gohan on the lookout after he defeated Cell
- Gohan not listening to Goku when he feels Piccolo's ki dissapear after fightig Cell and Goku having to use force to hold him back
- the scenes between Bulma and Vegeta before they actually get together - it helps give their weird hook up a bit more credibilty
Edit: I know that the whole pre - saiyan arrival is technically a whole filler arc but I think it deserves to be mentioned. I completely agree with Ashura's point of view, especially what concernes Piccolo and Gohan.
And there are lot's more....
Say what you will about fillers and what they do to the continuity, but they helped add emotional depth, often times in places where I think the manga was a bit lacking in that department.

Re: Short filler scenes you love.
Would stuff like Goku flashing his testicles to Husky count?
Cuz I love stupid stuff like that.

Re: Short filler scenes you love.
The villains watching the Goku/Kid Buu fight in Hell.
Re: Short filler scenes you love.
I'm not sure what is and what isn't filler in the Buu arc so correct me if this isn't filler, but during the Gotenks/Super Buu fight, Buu hits Gotenks right to Piccolo and they both land in a bathtub. Thought that was pretty funny.

Hmm...a short filler scene...hmmm...
...I think I'd have to agree with Bulma watching Yamcha die on TV. That was pretty darn good...

Kuririn attacking Super Buu after he comes out of the ROSAT to protect his family, even though he knows he can't do anything at this point. I think it's a touching and honorable scene.
Re: Short filler scenes you love.
^^
that.
Also I liked the Filler with Yamcha being a baseball player. At least ONE of these guys got a damn JOB.
And while the Garlic Jr. saga was crap I really liked the speech God gave in it.The one about how he ,even though he is an inferior God as he wasnt born on earth, loves the earth and all the being that inhabit it.

I love all of the filler with Lunch during the Saiyan Saga while she is chasing after Tenshinhan and during the scene where she is at the bar getting all drunk.
Another favorite of mine is the filler with Yamcha playing baseball, and the extra development scenes with Vegeta and Bulma in the Trunks Saga.

Yeah, that's filler. I loved that scene, especially the part where Piccolo just pops his head out of the water, turns round and says seriously, "Get out of the tub."Codarik wrote:I'm not sure what is and what isn't filler in the Buu arc so correct me if this isn't filler, but during the Gotenks/Super Buu fight, Buu hits Gotenks right to Piccolo and they both land in a bathtub. Um...short filler scenes I love...perhaps when Goku's thinking about his friends and family when Freeza's drowning him before he goes Kaio-ken x20.

The flashbacks to King Vegeta's short-lived rebellion against Freeza.
Kentai wrote:Son Gokuu is a fascinating character anyway, because he is - at face value, anyway - an idiot savant. The victim of violent head trauma as an infant [...] he's a simple bumpkin with a fair share of brain damage who's natural talents to work out what's wrong compensate for his broad lack of common sense. But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Vegeta refusing to stay down against Kid Buu.
Re: Short filler scenes you love.
Kuririn saving the random female and her little brother from Imperfect Cell.
I wouldn't call it out of character and it was also very nicely animated.
Damn, Toei really tried giving Kuririn some of the limelight.

What about the Twilight Zone bit with Cell jumping off of the plane wing? I liked that.

As opposed to poor Yamcha who, especially in the later part of Z, they tried to make look as ridiculous as possible.Xell wrote: This too.
