Who would you like as your martial arts teacher?
And I'm not referring only to those charactes who were teachers in the story, like Roshi or Piccolo, but to the entire cast. Take for instance Krillin. I get the feeling he'd be a good teacher. Same goes for Tenshinhan. (them opening their own martial art schools in DBO seems so approporiat) These two would also be my first choices, but it's hard to say who I'd chose between them. I think I'd feel more at ease around Krillin, and I like his friendly attitude but Tenshinhan seems to have that strictness that Krillin might lack.
And then, of course, there is Roshi.
I like Piccolo a lot but I get the feeling you need to have a incredibly tough hide to survive his "teachings". Goku also doesn't strike as someone who'd be that good at explaining things or have good methods of teaching someone who doesn't start out with hidden dormant powers or great potential or something. I think Gohan would be the only one from the unconfortably powerful group who's do well as teacher for normal people.

Re: Who would you like as your martial arts teacher?
Sticking just to characters who are teachers in canon DB/Z, Tsuru-sennin. He would definitely be an incredibly rough guy but Roshi, Piccolo, etc weren't exactly laidback, easy teachers either. I'd also get to learn a host of awesome techniques like Bukujutsu, Dodonpa, Kikoho, etc. Plus, I'd be guaranteed a job as an assassin with all of skills that I'd have
(and the prestige of being a student of the World's Greatest Assassin's older brother.)
Kaio-sama sounds like a great teacher but considering I'd have to die, then run a million kilometers just to get his training (that'd take incomprehensibly long assuming I don't gain DBZ powers along the way) and would probably have to already have great knowledge of Ki that'd kind of suck. Kami-sama/Mr. Popo sound like great teachers too and they're definitely my second choice because while their training seems to be far more effective than Tsuru-sennin's and they teach how to sense Ki, control Ki, etc and possibly the better form of Bukujutsu that Piccolo uses.
If it's characters who never actually were shown to teach anyone then Tenshinhan for sure. He was taught by Tsuru-sennin, Karin-sama, Kami-sama, and Kaio-sama and comes off as somebody who would be a great, strict teacher. Kuririn would be a great teacher too but Tenshinhan definitely has much better techniques IMO, although he'd probably be a far stricter teacher.

To be honest, I'd probably like to be taught by Gohan. He's not the most knowledgeable, but he was able to able to teach Videl how to fly, so it's not like he'd be a useless teacher. I just think he'd be easy to train with, which is fine if you're not looking to get enough power to blow up planets.

I'd like to be trained by Future Trunks because he's a nice guy. He wouldn't be too rough on me, but would see to it that I got stronger.
Re: Who would you like as your martial arts teacher?
I would have liked to have been trained by Son Goku. I think he would be a good teacher. Not to hard on a student I'd assume and has a variety of techniques worth learning. Goku seems like a pretty nice guy compared to others as well. I'd get along with him better that Vegeta that is for sure.

I'd say Yamcha. Yamcha could teach me lots of useful things and since he's human, I'd feel as if reaching his power would be an attainable goal, whereas if I was being trained by a Warrior Namek or a person of Saiyan hertiage, I'd feel as if trying to match my teacher would be a lost cause.

I want my teacher to be Tien.

I'd love to have Roshi simply because I would like to follow Goku's path

Kuririn and Yamcha are very skilled, but still human. They'd push me without putting the whole "you have to save the world" shpeal on me.

I think I'd have to third this. I question Goku's teacher qualities and Piccolo, Tien, or even Gohan would be thinking so high-level that it really wouldn't gain you much to train with them.In Brightest Day wrote:Basically this.Travis Touchdown wrote:I'd say Yamcha. Tullece. It's a lesson on how to cheat, how to fight, and how to grow your own food!

Oh, you think the Grand Tour is your ally, you merely stepped into the Grand Tour. I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn’t see the Super until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!

Kuririn. He's an extremely gifted martial artist who wouldn't be too harsh, nor too soft. And they're not too superhuman that their training would be too much for me (I guess I'm speaking in DB terms; all the warriors are superhuman). And Kuririn has some nifty techniques.

I'd have to go with Ran-Fan. Her particular style of martial arts is intriguing. I've never practiced martial arts, though, so I'd probably require several demonstrations from the sensei.

Perfect Cell anyone? I could learn from Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, etc. all from that one guy. Maybe a few tips on self destructing while we're at it. LOL

Re: Who would you like as your martial arts teacher?
I would want to be trained by Videl post-flight training. The reason is because she's the closest there is to a "regular human." Because of that, she could more easily understand and relate to my normal human strength and help me past my limits in a normal human way.
If I were to move on from there, though, I would probably train with Kuririn because, at one point, even he had to train to surpass normal human limits. With that sort of experience behind him, he could help take me further than what Videl could do.
That, or maybe I could train under Mr. Satan. Training to be a gag character would make me immortal.

I'd chose King Kai! Mainly because he's a relaxed teacher and he has awesome techniques such as the Kaioken!

I would say:
Mr. Popo: Because he is very calm and I would learn some really awesome things like emptying my mind, learning how to sense ki, and so on. Plus the lookout looks so cool and very peaceful.
Mutaito: Obvious
and Goku:
I certainly do NOT want Roshi teaching me. I hate doing stuff while other people just relax and watch. I don't want to be farming while he just sits there and watches. And I certainly don't want to get up at 4 in the morning for anything, let alone delivering milk. And going without supper for not finding a stone in 30 minutes is such a harsh punishment. I respect Roshi, he knows his stuff, I just wouldn't want to be his student.
