Foreign Language Direct Linking

Post by VegettoEX » Thu Apr 07, 2005 10:44 pm

http://outerspace.terra.com.br/phpbb/vi ... hp?t=12697

Could someone familiar with the language please tell these people to immediately remove their direct-linking to the files? It's bad enough to do so many at once, but these are even all from the same mirror (Meri's, no less). I'm glad they're interested and flattered they seem to enjoy it, but it's just ridiculously rude.

Much thanks to any who can help.

Note: Explaining that they should link to the "Manga Downloads" page, instead of direct-linking, should suffice. We don't want to turn them off to it completely. :)

As for translation, I dunno... has anybody seen FerroFX around lately? :?

Got bored, thought I'd try and translate (with some aid from babel fish) what they said in the first post. After some re-translating by me, this is what I got:

<Name?> knows some manga parodies by celebrities of the Dragon Fall type? For those who don't know, Dragon Fall is a parody of Draognball in manga form made by two people. (I remember one of them is Nacho, the other I can't remember).

I went looking for something of the same type, and found a parody of Dragonball made by Akira Toriyama! This parody is called Neko Majin, that had a published volume, and Neko Majin Z, that finished in Feburary of this year with 5 published volumes. I only found it in English, but still <er.. not sure...>. <Name?> goes to roll around laughing at the jokes the people say. Morever, it also has a special guest appearance in each volume, a person of Dragonball Z. Vegeta, Majin Buu, and Goku appear each in a volume.

Wihout more delay, here are the links. I found them on www.daizex.com

Neko Majin, Neko Majin Z and Z2:
http://www.toriyamaworld.com/oneshots/
(At the end of the page they have three links)

Neko Majin Z3, Z4 and Z5:
http://www.templeotrunks.com/nmz3_daizex.zip
http://www.templeotrunks.com/nmz4_daizex.zip
http://www.templeotrunks.com/nmz5_daizex.zip

There it is. If <Name?> knows of more parody manga's, post them here.

PS: Somebody know where all the volumes of Dragon Fall are? I even thried to buy them <no clue. ^^'>

I've also signed-up there to try and ask them not to link right to the files, but to the site only, but I have to wait to be activated.... (which gives me time to figure out how to say what I want in portugese.... ^^').

It shouldn't be difficult to tell them what needs to be said, if said short and sweet, you could say something like:

"VegettoEX Annoucement:
Please do not directly link to files, please only link to www.daizex.com."

Which according to Babelfish becomes...
"VegettoEX Announcement:
Por favor não ligue diretamente às limas, por favor ligam somente a www.daizex.com."

Then again, it would be better all around, if someone who actually spoke the language, or had a good knowledge of it could step up and work a little Portuguese-ian magic on the board.

I'd have to wait for Saturday, but my parents spent 2 years in Portugal. If thats portugese I can see if my folks can help you out with this EX. Though I doubt they'd have portugese things for internet style words, but worst to worst its better then nothing.

I don't know if it's too late, but I could talk to them, since I'm Portuguese and all. Just tell me if it's still needed and what should I say.

Since nothing has changed yet and no progress is posted here, I'd say it's still needed
You should just tell them not to direct-link to the files, but only to http://www.daizex.com

I tried to register, but this always turn up:

Failed sending email :: PHP ::

DEBUG MODE

Line : 234
File : /webpoint/outerspace/phpbb/includes/emailer.php

I think Xyex has registered as well, right? Well, if someone can register there, just say this:

Sunset Kid, por favor retira os links directos aos ficheiros. Dá o link da página principal (http://www.daizex.com) e a partir de lá, o ppl acha os ficheiros. Muito obrigado.

I got a friend of mine who speaks Portuguese to sign up there and try to get them to assist... he got registered, but it won't let him sign in.

The site admin needs to activate the account. That's the problem I'm having too. We'll never be able to get in...

Well, I contacted the user "Tenchi" over MSN and told him to post about removing the links. Good thing he spoke basic English :P

Bravo, CMG.

And my friend DID get his account activated. But the site kept telling him that his e-mail address was invalid every time he attempted to log in. But he got the e-mail from the admin, so, I have no idea...

Well, Tenchi did say in there we were not pleased with it being direct-linked and they commented it in two or three posts, so... I guess they just left it like that.
