Original broadcast episode previews showing the movie ads

What episodes did the advertisments for each of the movies take place? I've seen some of them and then there are others I haven't seen. I'm curious to know about all of them.


The ones I have seen the movie ads in the episode preview for are movies 7, 12, and 13. I saw all of the movie 7 ads. When I watched the series on the Anime Lab subs. Episodes 145, 146 (the one on the link I just showed), and 147 episode preview had the advertisement for movie 7. Movie 12's happened for 3 episode previews during the Gotenks vs Super Buu battle episodes. Movie 13's was on episode previews for 3 episodes during the Vegitto vs Super Buu Gohan battle episodes.


Ones I haven't seen are movie 3, movie 5, and movie 11.


I know where movie 5 and movie 9 happened but I didn't see the actual complete episode previews for them. I know that movie 5 happened on episode 97 and movie 9 happened on episode 191 and 192.


Then there are the ones for the movie previews I've seen thanks to some Youtube links I looked off of. And I have seen a few of them that have a modified version of the episode previews where the movie ads are replaced.

I assumed the Japanese Dragon Boxes had the original episode previews (from) when they were broadcast and that they were just taken out and edited for the US release, but I guess they took the movie commercials out of the Japanese releases, too.

Yes. As I understand it, Japanese next episode previews for many shows end up being recorded very shortly before the episode airs. In the event that there's a special event coming up, like a movie, which they want advertised, then two previews will be recorded: a standard length preview (for eventual re-airings or video releases), and a five or ten second "rushed" preview, followed by the advert for whatever.

However, in the English dub of Dragon Ball Z, which *did* use the original next episode preview footage on the old Cartoon Network airings, there were a few instances of the shortened preview being brought over here. I recall Chris Psaros in one of his Freeza arc episode commentaries asking the dub fans if they noticed how unusually short the preview was, and then added that in Japan, this preview would've been followed by an advert for Movie-whatever.
