Super Battle Collection History

I have been collecting the Super Battle Collection series and am trying to compile a history of the series. I have a few questions that hopefully a few of you will have the answers too. I have organized my research by volumes in sets, sagas the volumes correlate with, the timeline in which the sagas aired and the years that the volumes were released. The sets were chosen based on the copyright date listed on each box. I linked to a source if I could find one. If you find anything incorrect please correct me!

Volumes: 1-10, X
Sagas: Saiyan, Namek, Captain Ginyu, Frieza, Garlic Jr, Trunks, Android, Super Android 13! (7th Movie), Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan (8th Movie)
Timeline: April 26, 1989 – May 13, 1992, July 11, 1992, March 6, 1993
Years: 1991-1993
Volumes 1-6 were first released in 1991. Volumes 7-9 were released in 1992 followed by volume 10 in 1993. There were at least two releases of the first ten volumes; the first release used a vertical color split while the next releases used a diagonal color split. There was also a movie three pack released during 1992 along with the seventh movie, Super Android 13!, which was never re-released.

Year: 2003
Bandai did a re-release of certain Super Battle Collection volumes in 2003, these versions included new box art and no volume numbers. The re-released volumes were 00, 1, 2, 17, 24, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 40, 41 and 42.

Questions:
Volumes 1-10:
How can one tell the difference between the different releases of the diagonal set and how many were there?
Volumes 17-27:
The only inconsistency I have seen with this set is on the tab of volumes, I have seen both square and rounded tabs on the same volumes within this set (specifically volumes 17 and 18), can anyone elaborate on this?
Hair Color:
I have noticed that some Super Saiyan volumes come in both yellow and gold hair. When was the gold hair change released and was the rest of each set released again along with them? This source shows 1997 as the year when gold hair was release, can anyone confirm/disprove this? Volumes which have had both yellow and gold hair: 2, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 17, 19, 21 and 24. Is this list correct?
2003 Re-release:
Did I list every release of this set?

i believe all of your information is somewhat accurate. I myself have recently re-collected the full super battle collection so there's a few other variants I'm aware of. I noticed that volumes 1-16 have 2 different packaging variants for the newer diagonal split boxes, but the only difference is the addition of the words" animation international" in the licensing area where it says bird studios/toei and the bottom of the boxes are slightly different between those two versions. Your info is correct about the gold hair versions, there are 10 of them. One thing that i have always wondered about though is , when the repaints were released, on the back of the package it shows the Pan and Gokou 2 pack, but i have NEVER seen those figures released in the new style package. Did you have a hard time hunting the original japanese 10? I lucked out and managed to get all 10 of them at the same time along with 1 open and 1 sealed set of the movie 7 3-pack.

What a great resource/thread OP. I extend a heaping amount of thanks your way. This is actually the first time I've even seen this series of figures so it's good to illuminate my ignorance. :D
