PSN Adds DBZ to Video Store
Dragon Ball Z Season 1 was just added to the video section on the PSN store. Episodes 1-39 are available at $1 per episode. It's probably the crappy Orange Brick version, but it is worth noting that episodes usually cost $2. Thank you, Sony, for only charging half price on the version that chopped half of the picture off.

If it's the English dub, it's none of my concern. I have the Dragon Boxes, anyhow.
So mondo lame.

Re: PSN Adds DBZ to Video Store
Personally, I don't think anyone should by these. It is far more expensive than the DVD sets are. I was just getting it out there to inform people. It's a great move for Funimation, though. They just found another way to make money from an old show.
Re: PSN Adds DBZ to Video Store
PSN huh? I would've thought it's be on iTunes first. If they are the Dboxes, I might pick up a few episodes. Chances are they're the bricks, though.

There's no way of knowing unless someone buys an episode. Who would do the honors?funrush wrote:PSN huh? I would've thought it's be on iTunes first. If they are the Dboxes, I might pick up a few episodes. Chances are they're the bricks, though.

Re: PSN Adds DBZ to Video Store
Not me, that's for sure. Judging by the episode count (39, just like "Season 1") and the use of Vegeta on the images for each episode, I'm faily sure it's the Orange Brick version.
Re: PSN Adds DBZ to Video Store
I can't check because my PS3 is doing an update, but there's a good chance they're in 1080p since they were remastered in 1080p. If somebody else can check, that would be nice.

Apparently, Episode 1 is free. Time to check this out. And the information for the episode says it's SD, not HD.
So mondo lame.
Re: PSN Adds DBZ to Video Store
I find it funny that they're doing this when you can go on their own website and watch these episodes for free.
EDIT: I guess not these exact ones but yeah.

And, yes. It's the Orange Brick, English Dub footage. No "HEAD-CHA-LA", but at least it's Kikuchi's music.
So mondo lame.

Re: PSN Adds DBZ to Video Store
Interesting (though it probably won't be on the NZ PSN), but I already have all the Orange Bricks as well as the first five Dragon Boxes, so it's none of my concern.

Cool, I'm pretty sure Xbox live market place will be doing the same soon (Unless they already have?). I'm pretty sure that they are the Season Sets episodes though.

Re: PSN Adds DBZ to Video Store
It's good to know that Sony is putting DBZ on the PSN marketplace. I don't have a PS3 myself, but I have the whole series on DVD. Good that's it the dub with Kikuchi's score. Not surprised that it's the orange brick footage.
And here we go again more dub bashing. I'll say it again FUNi's DBZ dub is not the best dub in the world, but it's way better than the Big Green, Malaysian & Portuguese dubs. It's even better than the Agapio Racing Team Finnish dub of Digimon.Adamant wrote:...with a garbage dub presented with an almost as bad video track.Jackal puFF wrote:Good to know. Actually, its not, all things considered. The portuguese Dub had like 6 or 7 people for all the characters in the show... Nonetheless, and taking into consideration the limitations of the voice cast, it turned out decent enough and its much more accurately translated from the source we got (the french dub) than the american dub compared to its source. And it also has the original soundtrack (because the french dub also had the original soundtrack).DB_Fan1991 wrote:

But its all just a matter of opinion, anyway.

I was stating my opinion of the Portuguese dub. For FUNi's dub I'm talking about the dub with Kikuchi's score.rereboy wrote:Actually, its not, all things considered. You were stating your opinion of the portuguese dub compared to the american dub, and I stated my opinion of the portuguese dub compared to the american dub. And while I was at it, I stated some objective information regarding it
