Now that Funimation just released the next volume, what music was on there?

It's been long confirmed that it's Kikuchi for everything from here on out. Part 5 had the "new" Kikuchi score.

How was it handled? Pretty well?

And are they going to go back and re-release all the old dvds with the new music?

When FUNimation re-releases Kai in season box sets, they will have Kikuchi's music. If they don't then it will be very surprising.

I believe they recently indicated they are not going to be replacing volumes 1-4, so Codarik is right that a later rerelease of the whole series in some form with greater episode counts will probably include the Kikuchi music on episodes 1-52.

As for how it was handled, and this is coming from a person who doesn't really care for the Kikuchi music overall, I think it was handled reasonably well. I'd rather have Yamamoto back as a matter of personal preference, but it seems that these episodes were done rather well. Nothing seemed particularly out of place, and I at least felt that they nailed the scene where Trunks kills Freeza.

I feel the same, I just hope the music placement is different for Dvds. they are pretty good so far from what I've seen. though I bugs They use a theme I always think it's cell's.... they... they use it even for a saibamen....
