"Ultimate Uncut" Disc 5 Cover Art

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Wed Apr 20, 2005 8:32 pm

I can't find disc 4 cover art. Also it seems Bio Brolly has been pushed back to Sept.

They made Goku look cross-eyed there.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

Meanwhile, still in shock that Raditz was able to dodge his strongest attack, Piccolo flies off the handle causing him to split in two!

That description makes it sound like Piccolo didn't split on purpose.

Not just Bio Broly, but it would seem that virtually all the currently scheduled ultimate uncuts have been pushed back, as well. According to righstuf, Vols 2 and 3 have been pushed back a week to June 14. Vol 4 has been pushed to Aug 9 from its previous July date. But Vol 5 is still set for Aug 30. If these are correct, it's gonna be quite a wait to get to Vol 4, but the small gap between Vols 4 and 5 is encouraging. Let's all hope that if these dates are correct, that they will continue to have small gaps between releases, like between Vol 4 and 5.

That's strange...maybe the Best Buys in your area do that, but around here, I checked 3 different Best Buys, and only one of them put out Ultimate Uncut Vol. 1 before the official date, and even then it was only 3 days early.

Heh, I just watched those episodes in Japanese, they are so much better, I hated why they didn't just use the japanese back ground music for the dub, it's way better, at least the dvd lets you have it.

I'm really starting to hate these covers. I wouldve preferred screen caps.

I love the original art work, how can you choose a screen cap to the original movie art? Eh... what ever floats your boat.

... yes, it was probably done with Photoshop. And/or Illustrator.

Do you have a point?

It's leagues better than anything they've done before. It has consistency, high-res art, and looks much better than their other sloppy work.

Speaking of cover art, I was just wondering... why does movie 7's art look like its a completely different art/paint style?

Never having seen the original art [leaving me with the uncertainty if the American artwork is the original or not] I just assumed that maybe FUNimation had some in house people throw something together, but I'd rather find out the truth of it all.

I wasnt trying to prove a point. I just dont like it. I've never liked any of Funimation's "original" covers.

I have to agree with EX on this. These are some great covers that FUNi is putting out. I think that we sometimes forget that they're not really any Japanese DVD covers for FUNi to pull their disc art from (not that I'm giving them an excuse for the not-so-great screen cap covers). Besides, I got my Japanese audio with English subs. The DVD is beautiful to me in that respect. I like what is on the inside ;) But yeah, I like the ultimate uncut covers too^_^

I can sympathize, considering the only covers I really liked were the ones from movies 1-3.

That could be because they were the japanese movie posters.
