"Fanboy Soze" (NoN.D.E. Fan Films)

Post by VegettoEX » Wed Jul 27, 2011 8:40 pm

Hey, all:

So back on Episode #0255 of our podcast we interviewed Scott and Rich from NoN.D.E. Fan Films (This is Otakudum, S.T.E.A.M.) about their latest fan parody, Fanboy Soze.

Well... it's done!

It's played at a couple conventions, and it's playing at Otakon this upcoming weekend. I know the larger audience won't be able to see it at a convention (even though I'd argue that's the best place to watch parodies like these!), so Scott went ahead and made a distribution DVD that's packed balls-to-the-wall with extra crap. Commentaries, cut scenes, behind-the-scenes, blah blah blah. It's all there.

As you're busy downloading the DVD ISO (the Megaupload links work and compile fine at the end; that Dropbox link appears to be dead right now), you can go back and check out that podcast episode for a pretty good introduction to what they did with the parody, how it came about, etc. We here at Daizenshuu EX didn't really have much in the way to do with it other than possibly very indirectly guiding to a plot point (and Meri and I did a couple minor roles, along with some other voices you may be familiar with), but it's DBZ-related, so we want to share it with you!

And the damn thing just got a fuck of a lot more relevant as-of this past week's announcement.

Just a heads-up that I did spot a couple minor errors in the DVD (little typos and such), so Scott may or may not go back and compile a fixed version at some point -- I dunno. Don't let that stop you from enjoying it, though.

Ooooh! This is the first time I'm hearing about this. I don't tune in to the podcast as much as I should . I'll definitely be at that panel this weekend to check it out!

Hey-Yo-Yo:

Just happened to notice that the group's got all their fan parodies up in parts on YouTube, now! I still recommend grabbing the DVD for Fanboy Soze for all the extra material, but if you just want to chill and watch it... well, you can!
