Damn. I seemed to have missed noticing this topic. I was wondering if you were going to post any clips, lol.
After watching your clips, I gotta say, I think some of them feel a little off. I mean, keep in mind I'm quite a little biased given I'm scoring Kai with Faulconer myself, and I don't know what program you are using, nor the flexibility it allows you in playing with the BGM. I myself use MPEG Video Wizard. It REALLY let's me play around with it--although sometimes it can be a pain to get the right edit you want that doesn't pop or sound weird, but anyways, here are my thoughts on the clips.
Clip 1--Mysterious Person starts out well, but I think it doesn't work mid-way through during Trunks and Freeza's banter.
Clip 2--Don't really like that first piece that plays, but nice job of editing the two of those to tie into Super Saiyan Trunks. But I think you might want to add another piece at the end of it, as the music just kinda stops(I suppose that was the end of the track?)
Clip 3--I really think Home Sweet Home is really an awkward piece to use here. I actually used A few pieces from the Makyo Star track for this scene in 57. The reason was referencing both the original Z score and Yamamoto, both uses pieces with an exciting vibe to them.
Clip 4-- I think this is the best of the bunch. Using Andriods matches well for the most part, besides a couple time edits I think you could do to get out the couple parts that go silent(specifically that first flashback. The music just stops, then starts back up a couple seconds after the flashback has started). Heaven Sent Trunks was a great call though. Maybe you should tinker around with the fade at the end a little more. It ends a little too abruptly. But yeah, besides those couple things, this was pretty good.
Clip 5--Ah! Not that hideous closing theme! Ahhhh! Kill it! Kill it with fire! Okay, in all seriousness, the closing theme works(the first with the guitars seems like its out of place, overpowering what Piccolo is saying), but I personally just don't like that BGM. It's up there with the Bulma, King Kai theme to me.
Clips 6--Great call with the Trunks theme. . .though don't like the silence cut in. The fade back in is edited well, though.
Anyways, I'm just giving my opinion. I'm just as much an amateur music placer as anyone else here,

Certainly interested to see more. Keep it up.

I whole heartedly agree; if they mixed it up a little and only had music playing where the Kikuchi score was and else where at times, it would've been much more respected.
I think there's a lot of truth to that. I hadn't really realized it, but all the crazy editing to the music is really at times utterly ridiculous and uncalled for. I think that's the big aspect that spurs a lot of the hate for the score, rather than the themes themselves. It's too bad Funi just didn't let Faulconer and the guys score it how they wanted too, instead of insisting that there needed to be music ALL THE TIME just so 9 year olds wouldn't be tempted the change the damn channel.
