Oozaru Vejiita inconsistancy

Post by Sun_Wukong » Fri May 06, 2005 11:36 am

So episode 59 of GT aired on CN last night. For those who dont know, its the SSJ4 Vejiita episode. I noticed something while watching it. When we first see Oozaru Vejiita he clearly has control of the form, considering he can talk. When he transformed in this episode he had no control over the form.

Had Vejiita not used the form in so long that he lost control of it? Or is it one of GT's many inconsistancies?

Pfft, been a while since I saw that episode...wasn't he just playing? Can remember Vejita giving a mocking comment on Gokuu in the Cantonese DBGT dub for thinking he [Vejita] could lose his control.

Yeah...

Vegeta says something like, "You think I, the prince of all saiyans, would let this form control me?" or something like that.

Yeah, Vegeta, according to Daimao's subs, called Goku a damned fool for thinking he'd lose his control.

If I'm correct, he also did it for "old time's sake".

That was an fun scene.
I like how he even picked Goku up the way he did back when he went oozaru in their first battle.

I guess that elite Saiyans (or possibly most Saiyans except Son Goku and Gohan) are able to train themselves to retain control even in their transformed Oozaru state.

I usually keep my TV on and I happened to see a few parts of that episode last night. If he wasn't faking losing control, it was probably different here because he was in the process of becoming Super Saiyan 4. I don't know, I don't really watch GT...and when I do, I don't really pay attention.

Keep in mind that if you're talking about the dub, they probably didn't realize what was actually happening in the scene and got the inflections and inferences wrong...

I was referring to what was going on. Not any quotes. In the Saiyan saga, Vejiita can talk in Oozaru form. In GT, he's just like Goku was in Oozaru form. Thats all I was trying to point out.

Except that he's not. Right afterwards, he starts laughing and saying how he was just playing around; he'd never actually let himself lose control in that form. Just as has been said before, in this thread :).

I suppose Goku and Gohan hadn't used the form enough for actually get what's going on with them, let alone try to control it.

Without trying to be an ass, I think EX noted all of this in the "Transformations" page of the site.

I loved that scene :P . I remember watching it for the first time and thinking that Vegeta was going to crush Goku. I think I watched it on the FUNi dub and he does tell Goku he's just playing.
"I'd rather die than fuse with you!"
"Um...Vegeta, you're already dead."

Apparently, most Saiyans can train themselves to, since Bardock and his team are shown controlling the Oozaru form in his special.

A thing I used to wonder about was whether or not to retain control in the transformed state had to do with the Saiyan class system since it was referred to often at the time. Especially since Vegeta and Nappa kept going on about how the "peasants" couldn't do things that they could and were quite surprised at Goku's abilities.

Goku could also be pretty much the sole Saiyan who can't control his Oozaru state since he konked his head as a baby. Even by a Saiyan's intelligence rating, his untransformed state's pretty stupid. :P

Oh but was he? Vejiita's not exactly one to admit he screwed up.

It's utterly obvious Vegeta was goofing around, stop grasping at straws just cause you were wrong.
