Funimation In Negotiations For Alternate Kai Music Score?
Well I have heard rumors not sure how reliable or accurate they are but, I have read the reason why they haven't announced a release date for DBZ Kai part 7 is because Funimation is currently in negotiations with Toei as well as the infringed third parties to acquire the rights to both Kai Musical scores. Original Z and Yomamoto Can anyone expand or confirm this???

Before you make ANY further conclusions, answer one question: where did you read this from? Whatever your answer to my question is will determine the answer to your question.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I've read it all on forums but it has been from a few different people. I also saw this comment on Facebook as well as Youtube I don't think it is true but might as well see if anyone knows otherwise. Plus this would be logical reasoning to why it hasn't been announced for this year!!!

It's not true.
If they were going to do this, they would've done it before the release of Part 5.
Episodes of part 7 have been airing in their edited form with the Kikuchi score already.
Don't get your hopes up. The set just hasn't been announced yet.

Complete bullshit. Considering the moves that are being made to eradicate all traces of Yamamoto's work, it ain't gonna happen. Toei removed the music to avoid lawsuits, why would FUNi (knowing this) invite the same threats of litigation?
Edit: Also, while I'm not 100% on the laws involved, I'm pretty sure Toei would also open themselves to legal action by licensing the music to FUNi. Someone else more knowledgeable can confirm this.
Edit #2: Ah, I noticed you mentioned the parties that were infringed upon...I guess that's possible, but highly unlikely. The amount of money that would be needed is mind-boggling, and that's on top of the already astronomical costs of licensing an anime. And the returns wouldn't be enough to warrant such an investment.

Unless there is an official source of information, you might as well believe all the other rumors on the internet while your at it.

Don't go to conclusions that it isn't true. It's FUNimation.

I definitely think this is not true, but I kind of like knowing rumours circulating around the Internet because they sometimes tell me what the fans around the world are expecting.
