Part 7 of Kai To Be The Final One?

Okay. We have never went this long without a trailer or annoucement for the next volume of Kai. At the very least FUNi would've said something at this point. And then it occured to me. At the end of November Nicktoons will only have 7 episodes left. And they'll probably make Kai go out with a bang, with Kai week or whatever they'll come up with. I believe FUNimation is waiting for Kai to complete on Nicktoons and release Part 7 as the final volume. (7 Dragon Balls, 7 Parts, just like the Dragon Boxes, eh? )

Atleast this is what I speculate, but at this point, it's almost a given.

What are your opinions on this? Am I onto something or is FUNimation just holding out on some very important details?

I just don't get why they haven't annouced it yet if they weren't planning to do this.

I can only assume that they're being phased out by the season sets. Except, Season 2 hasn't been announced yet either, so really, we can only speculate. The music scandal is probably entering it's final phases too.

They're waiting for Nicktoons to get a bit farther ahead? Waiting for the holiday season? Problems with Toei? Other releases taking priorities? There are a number of reasons why they haven't announced it and this isn't one of them.

Well, I still find it kind of odd, as Part six was released back in September. It's November now, and if it's announced now, it will probably be released around February/March. That's a whole 5-6 months between releases! I can only assume it's the thing with the Season Sets, the music scandal, or some stuff going on with Toei.

FUNi typically releases all the material of something (i.e. the 13-episode set) before making Season Sets.

yeah but Season 1 of Kai is already out, despite being recalled probably because of the music.

It probably does have something to do with the music scandal, since Part 5 was delayed cause of it and Season 1 of Kai had the Yamamoto score before being recalled.

I wouldn't think so, because it's not balanced nor it is logical.

Part 7: 78-89 [12 eps]
Part 8: 90-98 [9 eps]

Another change of episodes per part will probably happen with these last two.

I meant that the season sets aren't going to get ahead of the 13-episode sets, there's no reason to.

The bottom line is, if FUNimation has a chance to release ANYTHING Dragon Ball related on DVD or Blu-ray - they will. It's really just a matter of time.

I honestly think since they "accidentally" released Season One of Kai with Yamamoto's score, they're pretty much trying to renegotiate their deal. My theory, of course.

I am sure it will be in their February solids. They were probably focusing on the Z Blu Ray's or getting something special prepared for the final 2 parts.
