Vegeta, SSJ3?

Post by Ultimate Saiyan Trunks » Tue May 17, 2005 7:34 pm

I was wondering, putting GT aside, in Toriyama's ending, Veget states that one day he'll show Goku defeat........does that mean a non-fusion can ascend to Super Saiyan 3 outside of otherworld? Or is it possible that Vegeta could have already been an SSJ3? What are your thoughts?

Pretty irrelevant discussion really. Its posible he could, its possible he coulden't we dont have enough (or any) solid information to go on. So it comes down to if Toriyama or Toei wanted him to then he would have.

I doubt that Vegeta had already reached Super Saiyan 3 at that point. If he had, he wouldn't have said "someday." I think that reaching SSJ3 is possible outside the afterlife, but would be very, very hard to accomplish.

Once he was possessed by Babidi, it seemed that he and Goku were at the limit of SSJ2, as they were equal in strength. With that said, I would think Vegeta, being the hardworking Saiyan that he is, would easily reach SSJ3 by that time.

But in the end, there is no way of telling. Sure it's possible yes, but it's technically also possible for both versions of Trunks, Gohan and Goten to reach SSJ3 as well. >.>

I know Future Trunks could :D , but IMO, Vegeta's determination would be able to push him far enough.

Well Vegeta had finally accepted Goku's abilities and his rivalry turned fully to a friendly rivalry. Some of his determination would be lost I think.

Either way, I'm glad that Mr. Toriyama did not go that route.

It's bad enough that a fusion of 7/8 year-olds did in 30 minutes what took Goku seven years to do, I'd lose pretty much all respect for Dragonball if Vegeta then went SSj3 while still alive.

It'd start looking like internet DBZ RPGs:

"Ha! I'm a Super Saiyan!"

"Oh, yeah well I'm and SS3!"

"Me SS3 two!!! AHAHA"

"omg jooid1ots, i iz the sUpaa Saaya-jin3!!!!!"

That does make a lot of sense, but lemme ask...do you think that would effect his shere power?

Not immediatly no but over time it would. We know their power can decrease through lack of training. I dont think Vegeta would give up totall but with a family and free of his anger and frustration I dont think he would do any more of the training-so-hard-you-nearly-die.

Hmm, so I guess the main thing is, was Vegeta's training because of his Saiyan race or "Kakarot"......

Both I think. My opinion would be that he would always train very hard, he is Vegeta after all ;) but it was Kakarot that caused him to train nearly to death in the gravity machine etc..

It's not just strength the SSJ3 transformation requires, there is a certain way of it being succesfully done. Remember Goku telling Gohan he'll show him how to do it after they get some food in the Kaioshin realm, that was however, in the dub, wether he sais that in the Japanese version or not I do not know, I think that he did though, Funimation don't just make this stuff up.

Anyway, Goku showed Goten and Trunks how to do it before he returned to the land of the dead, obviously they arn't powerful enough to do it when not fused, but the power of fusion allowed them to reach this level, as well as training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber under 10x gravity for a while, also, remember Goku saying that the power to transform to a SSJ comes as a need, not a desire, and after Chi Chi being made into an egg and killed, Goten must have helped in this requirement(not to mention he thought Gohan was dead, and that makes he's whole family). Trunks had Vegeta gone too, so...

Anyway, Goku is nearly surpassed by the kids because, well, they been training since they were young, Trunks under 150x gravity?! That must have helped to they're training, and Goten, also the knowledge of them actually being part saiyan lets them know of their capabilities, when Goku was young he just thought he was some normal kid with special powers, and after DB, he never really trained much in the times of peace. ALso they are half saiyan and half human, and for some reason they are stronger than full blooded saiyans.

Isn't the RoSaT just 2x normal gravity and King Kai's planet 10x? I'm sure Goku said something like that, because he said he had already used the RoSaT and was used to the gravity, but he wasn't used to King Kai's planet gravity.

I'm fairly certain it's ten times, as I had to translate something for Mike which said as much.

*goes off to check manga*

Ah, here we are. In chapter 377, Goku explains it to gohan. The temperature varies between 50 C and -40 C, the atmosphere is about 1/4 that of Earth (at sea level, I'd assume), and the gravity is 10 times Earth's. :)

I think the first enterance for Goku in the Time Chamber was only in the Anime. Wasn't it?

In the manga, Goku mentions that he went in there as a kid, but couldn't even manage a month (2 hours). That's even on the same page as the facts I listed a couple of posts back. :)
