Nicktoons to Air DBGT in North America (Confirmed)

Post by Ani-Nation7 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 3:40 am

I guess Nicktoons doesn't want to be done with Goku and friends after Dragon Ball Z Kai ends soon. Dragon Ball GT looks to be on the way. The show page at Nicktoons.com isn't complete yet (or really worked on - as it's got a Danny Phantom template still, but this is how all Nick show pages usually start out), but it does confirm that Nick has the rights and will likely be airing it after DBZ Kai is over.

Toonzone is a reliable site and the member who posted that is an admin so I think it would be safe to believe this.
If it's anything like the Z movies then expect Mark Menza and that god awful rap.
I've never actually finished GT so I guess this'll give me the chance to do that.

The real question is whether or not Nicktoons will pull that "Lost Episodes" crap with an abridged first episode too.

So they skip the Buu arc and kids will start watching GT without knowing who Videl, Goten, Uub, Bra, and Buu are?

I'd assume if we confirm this, then they probably will do the Boo arc.

Who cares about what the kids do or do not know, it's all about having a broadcast in line with the Dragon Ball GT Anime Review of [Less] Awesomeness!

Well, at least this gives us hope that they are going to air the Buu Saga.

They probably will air GT with Menza's soundtrack so it brings in more royalties but I wouldn't be surprised if they stuck with Tokunaga's soundtrack to be some-what consistent with the Kikuchi soundtrack since Funimation are treating the franchise with a lot more respect than they have previously.

Then again, the movies used single footage and the real American band music.

Maybe I'll watch if they air with the original music. And maybe Vic Mignogna's version of "Dan Dan".

If they aired the Movies without the original music, I doubt they'll ar GT with it too. They already have edited for TV versions ready, so it makes more sense to just give Nicktoons those.

It'd watch it if they'd include the original BGM and a new English Dan Dan opening, or just Bit by Bit.

We won't know for sure if they'll do the same for the rest, but it may happen. I seriously hope it doesn't. Though, if it's like the Z films they have aired, meh, it'll the the US replacement music.

Nicktoons, air it with the Original BGM, not the US replacement music. :?

Anyway, if they're planning this, they'll air first Majin Boo's arc (after finishing Z Kai) and then GT.

Once again, I'm elated by this news with regard to what it means for the anime industry in general. As I've said before, there's no way that Nicktoons would be requesting this from FUNimation if the show wasn't bringing in a serious surge of viewers. I don't want to jinx the situation by saying, "the return of One Piece to television is inevitable"....so I won't.......but I really want to. :D
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

You know... hopefully this increases the chance of a Kai-ified Buu saga. Maybe that's why Part 7 is taking so long. Doesn't matter. I'm just glad to see more anime on Nicktoons. I would prefer the Buu Saga to air in some form, though.

Heck, if they're getting GT they could also be getting Dragon Ball in the future.

...what? I can dream can't I?

I'd say it lowers the chance, especially if they air the DBZ Buu saga.

Unless they know what they're doing with the Majin Boo arc, that is, splitting, merging the episodes into a Kai-style (Kai'd) they better not then.

I think ImmaKrillin is going to do a custom Majin Boo Kai arc, not sure how it'll turn out.

Z Kai Part 7 - Features 10/11 episodes and Nicktoons already aired 78-90, so, don't really see being the excuse given but FUNimation's delaying for what purpose.

Yeah, Gon, it would be nice if afterwards they would air the original Dragon Ball series for the viewers to watch. ^_^

Well, that's what happened with Toonami way back when, right? I thought we didn't get DB 'till like, '04.
