Did I get a bootleg CD?

Post by dragondyle » Sat Dec 03, 2011 5:40 pm

Earlier this year I purchased the Dragon Ball Z & Z2 Original Soundtrack from Amazon. It did not come with a DVD like I thought it did and it clearly says "DVD" on the side. Was this DVD limited? Also, the disc art looks weird. It's from MIYA Records not TEAM Entertainment and no copyright symbol or number "KDSD-42" but MICA-0444 So, did I get a bootleg CD? I know Amazon is full of bootlegs. Thanks. (pics in links above)

Yeeeeeeep, Miya Records are bootleggin' sunzabitchez.

Did you purchase off regular ol' Amazon US o' A or Amazon Japan? If you got it off our own, it was likely just a third-party selling it under a listing for the legit product, so Amazon really has no way of knowing or telling if someone's not on the up-and-up unless you report the seller (or at least try to work it out with them first).

Couple years ago Meri tried buying me the Fatal Fury OVAs off Amazon from a third-party seller, and they ended up coming in as bootlegs. The retailer legitimately had no clue at all they were bootleg, and was so embarrassed that they told us to just keep them and refunded the cost, too.

So be sure to take all avenues you can with getting that kind of stuff taken care of. You say "earlier this year", so it's probably too late for you, unfortunately :(.

Damn! Ah, yes. I forgot to say that it was form a third-party seller on Amazon. I did contact them about it just now. I really hope it isn't too late because I just barely started noticing it. I noticed no DVD when I got it and just shrugged it off, which I shouldn't have done. Thanks for confirming the bootleg!
