Name for a Tenshinhan/Lunch Offspring?
I've been toying with a fanfic idea for a while now, and one additional character I want to have is a little boy of theirs. He'd be too young to fight yet, would inherit his mother's sneezing "problem", and would have his father's third eye (though I'm thinking of having it on the back of his head...too much?). I'm at a loss for what to NAME this kid though. I'm wanting something that can kind of represent both sides of his heritage. Tenshinhan was based on or at least inspired by someone in the Monkey King story if I recall, and Lunch's name pun is pretty obvious, so I've been leaning towards a direct or flip-flopped take on a traditional Bhuddist monk food or something. Any suggestions?

Re: Name for a Tenshinhan/Lunch Offspring?
I'm sure Lunch would name her kid "Money".
Other than that I got, Brunch or Dien (from "dine") Haha or Dim Sum Han! XD
EDIT: What a coincidence! On the wikipedia page about Dim Sum, I found that the serving of it is actually linked to "Yum cha" , drinking tea. That's too much of a connection to let slip by!

Might as well stick with food puns, Tenshinhan is supposed to be an omelet with rice or something among those lines.

Re: Name for a Tenshinhan/Lunch Offspring?
I created a similar character except that she's a girl and her third eye is in the front. I named her "Uzi" because I figured that Lunch would name her childern after some sort of weapon. I know it's some sort of Dragon Ball tradition to name characters after food but it doesn't always have to be.

You know, you don't have to choose a name that would reflect both sides of his heritage. Trunks and Bra's names only reflect Bulma's side, not the vegetable pun trend that Vegeta and other Saiyans follow. Although that's probably more because they're born 'n bred on Earth, so they're technically not through-and-through Saiyans.

Re: Name for a Tenshinhan/Lunch Offspring?
Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, there's a lot of good ideas in here. ^_^
The rest of you have a good point about it not really having to represent both sides too. And now that I think about it, Tenshinhan doesn't seem the type to be insistent on a particular name, whereas Lunch seems like she'd be even fiercer than Chichi on the matter.
So far, I'm leaning most towards Brunch, as I kind of like it for some reason. It sounds like a legit DB name, without really doing any messing around with the word. I like Dimsumhan too but it just makes me laugh too much, I'd never be able to write that into the story.
LOL! Oh man, that's almost too perfect.TRL wrote:Dim Sum Han! XD
Heh. Well, there may or may not be a connection between Yamcha and Tenshinhan in this fic, whenever I get going on it. Perhaps in the form of someone we've seen before in a game...TRL wrote:EDIT: What a coincidence! There was a What-If topic by Kaboom, and in it there were fan-art ideas for Ten & Lunch's child.
Here are are Scarz's scetches.

TripleRach. No given names.

Innagadadavida's. His name is "Dinn". A pun on "Dinner".

Kaboom's. The boy is "Kush", and the girl is "Ami".

That's okay. I'll use Dimsumhan for my version of his son then in my manga. I hadn't really thought about a name yet until you brought it up.
Little guy on the bottom left.
You're right that Brunch does sound right too.

Thanks for the link and pics SHINOBI-03, just got done flipping through that whole thread. There was a lot of really cool stuff in there, I wish it had lasted, I'd love to see more of that kind of stuff.
All the art was good but I'm always left in awe by Scarz and Kaboom in particular. Kaboom's 'Kush' design looks about like how I'd imagine the kid in my idea, folder, to look.
@ TRL - Your manga's looking pretty good, and I'm loving seeing Snow and 8 back, as well as the teases of what may be happening in the story there.
