English Dub Movie 5 soundtrack+Japanese audio

Post by UnbiasedDBZfan » Tue Jan 24, 2012 4:01 pm

This is the English Soundtrack for movie 5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37VKwq0n8cQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8EUAEKoIrE(This one sounds like a certain song from Budokai 3. Wait other way round!!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiUJaflL ... re=related

I might be THE only person on these forums who likes the dub's music(for this film), but imagine Japanese Goku to Told You So. It would be so sick and fitting!! But that's MY opinion. How about the guys at 'Daizenshuu EX?'

Yes! I always thought the dubs replacement for the score in the films made them sound more like genuine movies instead of just TV specials. I want to hear the Japanese voices with this music, to see how they blend.

Well, it technically is possible, seeing as the master audio for the movies is still available unlike the episodes.

I don't like it, nor is it fitting to my likes.

Even with the original Japanese voices I wouldn't bear to watch with this type of music.

Music as music, yes, but not with DB.

I disagree completely. It made them more like glorified AMVs. Since the Japanese BGM is primarily orchestral, I find it to be more movie-like. And before you say something like "But it's just the music from the TV series!", I think it should be noted that the Japanese scores of the movies were used in them first, and were incorperated into the main series' score later. Here's a thread with a guide to when each movie's score made their way into the series' score: http://daizex.fanboyreview.net/viewtopi ... =12&t=9849

On topic, I agree with dbboxkaifan. Even with the Japanese voices, I cannot watch DB like that. I mean, disregarding my opinion about (A.K.A. "disdain for") score replacements in general, I find replacing the original score with that "OMG REAL AMERICAN ROCK BANDS" bullshit in the English dub to be a borderline retarded idea enough, so why would I want the Japanese version to get such disgraceful treatment.

Oh cmon, you must be at least a bit curious as to how it would sound.

Personally I think Movie 5 had a good selection of songs to it.

Not really, neither.

I'm not one of those that thinks adding Japanese voices to unfitting content makes it "cool" or suitable.

This is one of the movies where I actually like the english music. Using deftones was pretty fitting.

Replacing an Anime film's score with rock band songs was a pretty popular practice back in the 90s and early 00s. The original American dubbed releases of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie and Tekken: The Motion Picture did the same thing too.

I guess I'm one of the few people here who actually enjoys the rock band soundtrack for the films, I guess its kinda just because of nostalgia. (Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy the Japanese soundtrack too.)

You think I approve of those titles getting that treatment any more than DBZ? Think again.

To be fair, the original scores are included as the default track on the Steelbooks. The replacement tracks are extras.

To me, replacing the original score with rock band music definitely is one of the worst practices ever existed among the anime industry in the US. I really hate it, though I do like dub scores without any singing. I can do this, but I won't. It just doesn't sound fascinating at all.

Back in 1998 the left Piccolo-san Daisuki not subtitled. I'd rather have(OMG! REAL MUSIZCS!) than, unsubbed songs.
