Dragon Ball Z: Idainaru Dragon Ball Densetsu differenes?

AKA Dragon Ball Z: The Legend. Been thinking about picking it up lately and I'm not sure which system is best suited for it. Playing either game on any system isn't an issue for me, and they both seem valued at roughtly $30 so whichever version's cheaper also isn't an issue. Now, the Saturn is of course a 2D powerhouse so I'd imagine the Saturn version is best for this type of game but I know there are cases where the PSX version is better (Such as Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight). Anybody happen to have both versions and are willing to list a rundown of any issues either version has compared to the other? If not I'll probably just end up getting the Saturn version since I much prefer its controller over the PSX's.

A simple rundown on both versions can be found here and here, PSX and Saturn respectively.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
...wow, I didn't expect there to be any gameplay differences between the two aside from technical ones like the Saturn running the game more quickly. Big Bang Attack and Final Flash are replaced with a generic ki blast in the Saturn version? That's...odd.

I have the PS1 version, and from what i hear it is better. But the Saturn version has a few things the PS1 don't have like trees. Oh and i think the 2D aura on the PS1 is better than the 3D aura of the Saturn.

Is this game worth importing?

I remember seeing copies being sold in Portugal, Spain and France but now it's hard to find and only via import from Japan.

Note: PS1 version.

I've got both and I have always prefered the Saturn version.

From all the Dragonball games I've played, I remember this one as the most fun and enjoyable one.

Wow, I only played the PS1 version, so I can't judge the means of a gameplay, but visually I like the PS1 version more, those trees are awkward fro example and Kuririn's discs aren't that cool as his bombardment on PS. Also Vegeta got only one attack and from GT??? No way I love the Final Flash!! It's true that Saturn have better sprites and graphics, like the Genkidama, that is superior to PS1 version, but I don't like those extras I mentioned above over PS1, as they are making the game uglier for me.

I have both the PS1 and Saturn versions. The PS1 looks prettier, especially the ki auras that surround and trail the characters. In the Saturn version the ki trail looks like smoke. But the gameplay in the Saturn version is much faster, with hardly any slowdown. Another thing to keep in mind is how the Saturn version has music in the menus, as well both music and dialogue in the prologue slideshows before every new Arc (storymode), where in the PS1 version it's just silent.

perfectly emulated, toady i made it through the end :)

i think, the Androids Fight, and fighting with Vegetto against Boo was a bit hard,
fighting with a team of three is so much fun, but not a great competition if you fight against only one opponent ^^

So the NO music in prologues and menus isn't flaw of bad rip and emulation???
Because I was trying to track down this game for some time, to have the original with everything,
so if it's not an error, then I don't need the original.

There's been an FAQ for the game since even before I started my website.

That and... well... playing and figuring it out :).

thats what i thought too, my first experience with the game was just like that some years ago,
just read some lines of the FAQ over on gamefaqs (http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps/572835-drago ... /faqs/4479) then you get an idea whats to do ingame, and then just start the game and get used to it :)

its definitely the best db game of the psx era, with lots of details,

It's really not that hard, you proceed with UP and unleash punch barrages, ki blast barrages with pumping some Ki up as you don't want it to deplete it and you are doing it that long, until the blue on the meter is full in your favor.
Then the special attack goes, which actualy depletes enemy's health :)

It's really one of the most symplistic games you can ever play.

I guess it overwhelmed me so much that I didn't think to look it up somewhere so obvious... -_-

Wait, what? I've got the PSX version and there is most definitely narration and music during the slideshow between story arcs.

i think its an emulation issue as mentioned before, i was checking media of the PSX Disc, narration and music is definetely available.
