Dragonball GT Movie "A Hero's Legacy"

Post by Kuriza510 » Wed Feb 15, 2012 8:23 pm

I loved the GT movie because it took a Dragonball related character and put him in a more real life situation (If you take out the demons) such as Goku Jr being afraid of heights and Pan suffering from a heart attack. Another thing I really loved was Goku Jr playing his NES with his headphones on. I think that really added a view of Goku Jr as a real kid. But I wish the movie could have been longer showing maybe Goku Jr finding the other dragon balls or Goku Jr on his way back.

Although I really like the movie I think some things were kinda retarded. Such as Goku Jr turning SSJ. Its kind Of the same thing with Goten and Chibi Trunks, but they were supposedly offspring of SSJ sperm. You never see Pan or Bra going SSJ but they never really had the need, but Pan could have in GT if she wasn't annoying. But Goku Jr is not birthed from SSJ sperm but 1/8 (Or something like that) Saiyan sperm. Also I don't thing he really had the need. True he was quite mad at the Demon King for hurting Mama Bear and also at himself for not being able to do anything. But when Android 8 died in The Path of Power ( Yes I know that's not cannon but neither is GT) Goku was EXTREMELY pissed off but he did not turn SSJ. It seems that all the other SSJ transformations werent as meaningful (Except for Gohan's SSJ2 transformation) as Goku's first transformation, especially Goku's SSJ3 and Goten and Trunks first transformation. Anyways I don't think Goku Jr should have transformed.

And then the demon people? Who the hell are these guys!? I suppose in the 100 years or so after the DBZ warriors death no one had really protected the earth so evil could form. But the movie never really explains who the he they are and what they're doing.

Anyways what are your thoughts?

To be fair, that is just a fan theory.

Goku Jr. is 1/64th Saiyan, so whichever parent he got his Saiyan genes from would have been 1/32.
And then the demon people? Who the hell are these guys!? I suppose in the 100 years or so after the DBZ warriors death no one had really protected the earth so evil could form. But the movie never really explains who the he they are and what they're doing.
Well, it's not like the heroes ever actively went around looking for evil and dealing with it. The Dragon Ball Earth had all sorts of weird things in it, including quite a few demons if you count anime filler. I suppose they wouldn't have been brought back by the wish to only resurrect "good people" (even though Pilaf and crew apparently were!) but, as you say, 100 years is a long time. All that said, I guess it would have been nice to get some more backstory about those guys.

Overall I liked this special. It was cute and simple.

Yeah I enjoyed this special for reason already stated. About the transformation, well, it seems that, from what we're shown from various types of media, that the gene that triggers the Super Saiyan transformation is a strong one and is passed on throughout various generations. It also appears to become easier for a person to transform the more diluted the blood is. I'm taking Online into considerations in this.

As for the demons, again, we're shown they come from various out-wordly places including Annoyo and more specifically Hell, the Demon Realm and even from another planet. So... Well, these guys must have come from somewhere, probably the same place those from the Dragon Ball filler came from ("normal" Makai) or remnants of the Devil's Hand region. Why are they still around? They're lesser evil, nothing to truly worry about, as worrisome as bandits. Why would demons be ressurected? They're demons, they're not "evil" per-se, it's their nature. You can't judge something that acts according to what it's supposed to act. Sure Manba did try to eat children, but mostly they just seemed more mean than actually evil.
