The fact that such a thing exists begs the question on why wasn't it mass produced? It can keep a normal person's hunger satisfied for up to 10 days if food ever ran out plus can heal almost any injury barring ones that have already healed and natural illnesses.
I know It takes time for them to be grown but in mass quantities, the end result is obvious.
So why? Was it not for the world to abuse it's power or something? Was it too sacred?

If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"

I always assumed growing them was difficult. It's hard to mass produce something if it takes a lot of work to make them grow or if they have very specific needs. On the other hand, it's possible that a lot of them are grown and Yajirobe just eats most of them...

That may be abusing the Dragon Balls' powers.MasterVampire wrote:Should of just wished for a whole heap of them.
But, yeah, I think they're hard to grow, and it may lead to the human population's over-reliance on "the gods", being Karin, to provide them with supplies, save world hunger, etc., which was against God (and subsequently Karin)'s rules.

Are we also assuming that Karin had a ton of them in DB grown over hundreds of years? Yajirobe was eating scoops of them at a time in a matter of seconds, and there still was a whole container full of them. After that, the amount per saga was under always under 10 between all combatants at any time. Someone got addicted.

I remember reading the Timeline for Dragonball Online and it's said that Yajirobe starts cultivating senzu plants at the bottom of the tower.
