Goku finishing off Super Jinzōningen 17

It seems like a silly question, but I'd like to get a conformation on it. When Goku uses his Kamehameha to finish off Super 17, is he doing the attack three times, or is it just the same clip repeated twice afterwards to emphasis how powerful it is?

I always thought it was the second, but I've seen some comments around the web stating otherwise.

The way it looks, it seemed to be a matter of just repeating the same scene over and over again for dramatic effect. Super #17's body position both before and after the Kamehameha is the exact same for each "fire", the screams from Super #17 are the exact same from Goku's Kamehameha throughout the three scenes of him "performing" it (at least in the Japanese version), and lastly, if you watch the damage from the Kamehameha, you see that it nearly destroys all of Super #17's side (from the inside), yet his side is still the same when the "next" Kamehameha is fired.

Yeah, it's just for dramatic effect, like when Gohan powers up for his final attack on Garlic Jr. in DBZ Movie #1, only from different angles.

I thought so, I just couldn't think of any other time that something similar happened. Goku doing it three times just seemed implausible anyway.
