Journey's End - Fanfic [Completed!]

27 years have passed since Buu was defeated. Peace reigns over the Earth and everyone has gone on with their lives; laughing, working, crying and loving. But eventually everything has to come to an end, and time is running out for the last two Saiyans.

I based this story on the events of the Dragon Ball Online timeline.

I'm currently in the beggining of Ch. 1, but so far its great. Kinda sad about Chi-Chi.

Also, do the half saiyans in this fic also keep their prime aswell?

Uhm, they would be just a little out of shape, specially Gohan since he was already focusing in his career by the end of DBZ. Goten and Trunks would have kept sparring but not having any serious training.


If you are wondering, here are the ages of the rest of the characters in the fic:
Bulma - 68 years old
Gohan-Videl - 45/44 years old
Trunks - 35 years old
Goten - 34 years old
Bra - 23 years old
Pan - 22 years old
Ubb - 26~27 years old

Yes I do I finished reading the next two chapters after I originally posted, pretty dark so far with Vegeta and Goku's rapid aging and Pan's worrying. I'm curious on what will happen before the two fly into space to do a suicide battle.

Chapter 4: Instinct

I'm loving this chapter so far! Your writing is great!

If I were to make a suggestion, "Mirai Trunks" sounds too much like "out of universe" speech. Perhaps something like "the Trunks that came from the future" would sound better, since the characters would have to explain the Trunks they are referring too rather than have an established term.


I can't wait for the next (and I assume the final) chapter!

Seems like it is not going to be the last chapter. Somehow it managed to grow to 5000 words and I just couldn't finish it! D: There's so much to talk and show that I had to stop and decide to make an additional chapter. I have it already but I'll ask for a friend to beta read and I'll put it up in the week.

I'll see if I can still edit the chapter directly. You know, fanfiction only keeps the source document around for just so long. Thanks for the suggestion. Heh, is funny because also in Spanish the accepted name is also "Trunks del Futuro", "Trunks of the future".

Yeah, I kinda needed a hug when I finished writing that.

To make things worse, by mere coincidence, two weeks before finishing the chapter I got to rewatch the last episode of DBZ, finally completing both series since I started last year... and I felt really sad and frustrated when Goku is leaving and the narrator in Spanish is saying something like "Goku! Don't take too long! We will be waiting for you to have new adventures!" I blurted out "Ten years and I'M STILL WAITING GOKU!" (DBZ finished on 1999/2000 in Mexico) It just hit me just how much I hoped he would really "return to us one day". I imagined Pan would feel way, waaaay more than that.

I have already started the last chapter and is coming along nicely. Yes, there's going to be some emotional moments because simply they have to be, but they will be of the good kind... I hope.

This is exactly the kind of Dragon Ball fanfics I've been looking for. Really, well done. In fact, it really moved me reading about Chichi's death, as well as the final chapter.

Love this story! Very emotional and interesting concept... I do wonder how you'll handle the afterlife. DBO calling this battle their last one isn't entirely accurate, since I imagine they'll have many, many fights in the Other World over the course of eternity. Unless Vegeta goes to hell or is not able to keep his body, but I think that's very unlikely.

I wonder if they'll still have their old bodies in Other World or have their youth restored? I guess old since Grandpa Gohan still was.

No reason why would Vegeta be sent to Hell. He was already revived when they asked to bring back only the good people who died, and he was revived.

Anyhow, since it was said that this is their last fight, I suppose they decided to move on and wait for Bulma and Chichi and the rest in Heaven, without their bodies.
