Character themes in UB22 & Final Bout

Post by Piccolo Daimao » Sun May 27, 2012 10:29 am

I've always wondered, why was it only future Trunks and SS4 Gokuu's character themes in Ultimate Battle 22 and Final Bout respectively that were named? What made them so significantly special from the others?

Fan popularity that's all I can assume... then again it would raise the question of other notable characters like Vegeta and piccolo... i could go on.

Was that SSJ4 Goku's first appearance? That could be a valid reason.

Vegetto's theme is also named ("Final Bout" only, of course) and is specifically for him.

Is it really just called "Vegetto's theme"?

It's called "Senkō no Potara!" It's no different than "Hero of Heroes" being the title of Super Saiyan 4 Goku's theme, in that respect.

OK, so what does "Senkou no Potara!" mean?

It translates as "The Gleaming Potara!" (hopefully you know that the Potara are the fusion earrings ^_~). It's Vegetto's theme and plays for Vegetto in exactly the same way that "Hero of Heroes" is Super Saiyan 4 Goku's theme and plays for Super Saiyan 4 Goku.

Other characters had themes, though, too. Gohan's theme from Super Butoden 2 is recycled within "Suite: The 5 Super-Warriors" on the Ultimate Battle 22 soundtrack (as a faster version), immediately followed by Piccolo's Super Butoden 2 theme, later followed by Vegeta's theme from Super Butoden 3 ("Evil Warrior Vegeta").

Right, OK. Interesting...

My question was: why are only certain themes named? For example, why wasn't Gotenks/Great Saiyaman's theme named?
