no i mean to add subtitles while i watch it, i only wanna add the temporary, i dont wanna burn the new subs on the DVD, like i can add them in a avi, there i just must put all my subtitle files(srt) in one folder, and give them the same name like the avi have it, now, everytime i wanna watch that movie, my player(BS-Player) add them automaticly

And the question begs to be asked... what raw files of episodes do you have, in what format, and with what legitimacy... that draws you to ask this question?

It doesn't look like you're trying too hard. Please run your post through a Microsoft Word spell checker, if need be. We require the grammar and spelling to be perfect, here. We understand if you're not good with English, but you probably have Microsoft Word, and spell checker. So, please use it.Dan_the_Reibirth wrote:well, i wanna buy the Dragonbox, but i see no reason to buye them if i dont understand it, and as mutch i know the DragonBox dont have english subtitles, so i need to find a other way to add the subtitles

What you're basically asking is if you can stream an str or ssa file during DVD playback, and the answer to this is no, you can't. Even if you could, you would need the subtitles in question, and you would have to spend a long time syncing each rip (Dragon Box has recaps, eye-catchers, etc., you could go ten seconds off-sync halfway, or a minute from the very beginning). This makes your job a lot more harder, and you might not even end up bothering to do it, losing all motivation.
You have several questions here. The most obvious one, is where, exactly, do you plan to get the subtitle rips from? No doubt you could maybe find some rips across the Internet, but 300+? Not likely. By the lucky chance you can find someone willing to VobSub Funi DVDs to grab your rips, there you go, but you would still have to go through synchronization.
Next question. Are the DVDs double-layered? I'm just going to take a guess since it's basically 110-120 minutes per disc, so there probably is a layer change. If they're double layered, you would either have to go through the task of spreading the DVD across two, or learning about programs like Cinema Craft Encoder to convert a DVD-9 to a DVD-5 with minimal quality loss. If they're DVD-5, even better, but you'd still have to burn 49 DVDs to insert the subtitle rips. Converting to a video format like .avi or a container like .mkv, and just watching them off your computer, is a better idea, if you've got the storage space for such a task.
Anyway, I'd doubt you want to go through all that. If you do, I'd be happy to help you with it if you're not sure through something like MSN or IRC.
There is a very simple solution; you could go to a site like DBZOA and just print off their transcribes. They only have them for Dragonball Z, though, not Dragonball, and there's about twenty episodes that have not been done. If not that, then... learn Japanese? I'm running out of ideas here.

A cynic is what an idealist calls a realist.
Well there is another solution,
you can print scripts which can be found on the internet,
especially from a certain project they are on par with "Mr Subtitles" Daimao.
So if you are like me and don't understand Japanese fluently can't write kanji or even make own logic sentences in Japanese,
though are a big fan and bought the Dragonball Boxes (I own them all myself),
Then you can print them out and keep them in a binder next to the boxes.
On the internet there exist a project called "Project Shinonome".
This has almost all scripts for Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT and some movies,
in a lot of cases even the "Next episode preview" and the "Last episode overview"
So since I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link to this certain Dragonball site I won't for the moment.
Though google for Shinonome Project and you should be able to find it yourselves.

It's simple, all you need is a DVD(R) drive and a Windows Media Movie Maker program. Copy the Dragonbox dvd files to you're computer and make sure they're playable on you're windows media player afterwards. Then use Windows Media Movie Maker to extract-copy the episodes into another file and then go through the process of timing and subbing the episodes with the WM Movie Maker's title feature. You could either use Steve Simmons's dvd translations, or the Project Shinome section at the Otaku Alliance to help with the translating, though I'd reccommend you'd ask both parties for permission out of respect of their hard work (that is if you want to sub the episodes that way). Then when its all said and done, burn the subbed episodes to a blank dvd. Now just don't sell the copies you make, and you have perfectly legal dvds on you're hands, however this process with all 291 episodes would likley take a good couple of years to complete.

I'm having a pretty big ethical problem with this thread, especially when names and locations are being given to obtain scripts and subs and stuff. Locked.
