Japanese Performances That Were Outdone In Kai?

Post by TheBlackPaladin » Sat Jul 14, 2012 2:23 pm

I was wondering, as somebody who likes the Japanese version but doesn't follow it quite as closely as the English dub, do you feel there were any performances on the Japanese end in Kai that were better than their performances in DBZ? I've watched a big chunk of Kai in Japanese, but all the while, I couldn't help but walk away with the impression that most of them just weren't into it anymore. Most of them seemed to have this, "been there, done that" feeling in their delivery. Not that they were bad, just that they weren't as good as they were in DBZ. Did I just miss the good parts?
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

I dunno. I haven't really watched the Japanese version of Kai. But I know from this video that Ryusei Nakao is on STEROIDS!

Original version:

Cast: DBZ
Music: DBZ
VA: DBZ
CPQ: DBZ
AQ: Kai
HD: Kai

Wish Toei Animation cancelled Kai by Friеza's arc, because this was the best part of the series, yeah, the cinematic music by Yamamoto helped out a lot too.

I thought Nozawa, Horikawa, Furukawa, and Tanaka were at the top of their game for the amount of Kai I watched.
