That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately I have to ask myself "What is the true meaning of being perfect?" and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is I despise perfection! If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"

That's not by Toriyama, right? Anyway, wow. Broli's taller than Piccolo!

It's one of the official model sheets drawn by Yamamuro.

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Born with such a high battle power, it makes sense for him to be bigger than the average saiyan.

Pretty faulty logic when you consider Vegeta's stature.

I never knew the king was taller than Goku. I always thought they were about the same height.

Well, if Vegeta's around 5'4, and each of those notches are about the metric version of a foot, that would make lssj Brolli around 9 feet tall or 274cm. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere on this board that Piccolo's a little over 7 feet tall, so it looks about right.

Vegeta was not born with a power of 10,000...probably not even close. Broli is much stronger than Vegeta until the he does something that Broli could never do, train and control one's power.

No, but Nappa was still much bigger and much less powerful than Vegeta was, even in the Saiyan arc. So size doesn't seem to matter.

Out-universe, I guess it's because it's meant to make him look imposing and intimidating, since he's the main villain and the Legendary Super Saiyan. In-universe, it could be that he just happened to be really tall, and/or, being born with a battle power of 10k and being annoyed at Gokuu's crying (odd behaviour for a baby that'd presumably cry too, unless Gokuu's the wimpy exception due to his abnormally low battle power) while arguably being mentally retarded or insane, he had a fast physical development rate that may or may not have balanced out his slow mental development rate (I mean, come on, he maintained a 30-year grudge on a guy who "tormented" him by keeping him awake crying and becomes even more detached in DBZ Movie #10, only being able to say "KAKAROTTO!"). Or something like that.

I would also like to point out that, if they actually extend all the way to the ground (we can't quite see), Brolli's legs are about three times as long as his torso in that picture.

Perhaps that's the source of his power.

Paragus' henchmen.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

That's the best quality version that exists, anything bigger will just result in distortion.
