The Best DBZ Game!

Post by dbzfan7 » Thu Aug 23, 2012 3:23 am

What do you think needs to be in a future dbz game to make it the best.

This guy pretty much has a great idea. What do you think needs to be in the games.

http://nostal.deviantart.com/gallery/37035657

-Characters that all play differently and are unique{+ No putting in things like Goku(early/mid/late). Only 1 adult goku/vegeta}
-Story mode that is like Budokai 1 and Tenkaichi 3 mixed.
-Much better character creator
-Graphics like how Treevax did it
-NO ROCK PAPER SCISSORS THAT CONTROLS ENTIRE GAMEPLAY(This coming from someone who loves the dragon rush)
-Characters from Dragonball-GT
-GOOD VOICE ACTING(On both sides I say it's pretty mediocre)
-Choosing Supers/Ultimates like in raging blast series(Better to choose what moves then be stuck with a few)
-Much Better Hero Mode(Not one so bad that I have seen fanfics do better)
-No Reusing Old voice clips
-No worthless characters(Don't waste programming guys like Freeza Soldier and Appule)
-Taking time on the game and not doing year after year of releases(Good games take a large amount of time)
-Keep blast stocks(So moves like zanzouken, Wild Sense, Shunkan Ido, and Ultimate attacks can't be spammed)
-Add Fatigue Meter(To reduce spamming and add a little more technique into the game rather then kamehameha every 10 seconds. Fatigue should rise after supers and ultimate attacks so spamming will be cut down.)

Add to the list or say what you don't like.

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Yeah, Nostal ... I don't particularly care for his approach of saying the "Dragon Ball fandom" wants a Raging Blast 3. Sales show the Dragon Ball fandom wants another game from Dimps, but that's not happening.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

This or another competent developer, which can merge gameplay and "DBZ-ness".

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

Best game so far (out of the ones I've played) is Budokai 3.

Unless they can somehow get off their asses and do a fully free range adventure fighting game that allows side missions as well as follows the main story, I don't see any game surpassing it. The problems with the newer games is that they focus more on the fighting mechanics and ignore everything else. They make a miserable attempt to try to simulate the greatness of the free range mode in Budokai 3, but utterly fail because unlike Budokai 3, that the only locations you can go are already marked on the map, so there's nothing interesting or challenging about navigating the map.

Until they can improve upon what they already did on Budokai 3, any and all of the newer games are a waste of time and money.
I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time, everything is 3D blasphemy.
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way I picture me.
I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

I'd like an RB3 with 4 player combat.

I want Infinite World 2, with an improved story mode and some of the oddities with special moves being fixed (Assault Rain is given to Pure Boo instead of Evil Boo, Goku GT can't use to SS4 Gogeta, etc)
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Let's see for most dbz like fighting: supersonic warriors and dbz legends
For most dragonball like fighting: tournament mode in dragonball advance
And for overall great and challenging game where each character is well represented as it itself (not being clones like the b and bt series): super dbz

Those are the games I had fun playing, all the others are just bland to me.

There is a possibility that Bandai Namco are taking these into consideration, which is why we didn't get a real new video game this year.
I tell him that the announcement of DBZ for Kinect really surprises me, and I tell him that I am very worried, because I spent a lot of time on these Fanwish sheets. My question was: “Will my sheets be useful for the future, will they have an impact for the upcoming games?”.

His answer is loud and clear: “It is obvious: they will have an impact”. And at this moment, I blow a sigh of relief, which make Nishimura san laugh!

Then, I tell him that the fans are very destabilized by DBZ for Kinect, which (as its title says) is only aimed at 360 players. I tell him that the PS3 fans feel a little betrayed.

Nishimura san excogitates. I understand that he is sorting what he can tell me, and what he can’t. As a reminder, the announcements of the games are govern by strict contracts, between the rightholder (Shueisha/Toeï) and the producer of the game (Namco Bandai).

Then Nishimura san tells me: “I understand the concerns of the players. I can’t answer directly, I am just going to ask you a question: What do you prefer between a game immediately, or a better game a little later?

If a Dragon Ball game had all these elements, then I would kill to play it.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Not from what I've read on YouTube comments....

Even if you personally don't really care about this guy's project, at least give him credit for TRYING to propose a game that many DBZ fans would love. Hell, he actually APPROACHED Namco Bandai themselves and showed what he's sketched and concepted. He's actually doing SOMETHING about it and not just being like "Oh, wouldn't it be nice if they did this?" that many users here would brainstorm on. Besides, if you actually saw every concept image he drew on the link, the man does have some REALLY good ideas.

Would you rather have that, or DBZ Kinect?

Funny how people want Raging Blast 3 so bad when people were bitching about how they were getting sick of the Sparking/Raging Blast gameplay when Raging Blast 2 was coming out. Spike did something new and they hated it. I guess it's true that people like the same old crap and hate anything new that is done. Red Letter Media review of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull pretty much proves that.

The best DBZ game? Attack of the Saiyans on the DS. I'm serious. I loved that game and I would love for it to get a sequel.
OT: I don't actually want RB3. It's a tired formula and I'm sick of seeing those games.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

I don't think the game that Nostal has to be Raging Blast 3. It's obviously a title example.

But I see so many people on this forum and outside this site asking for a RB3 but before that people were bashing on RB2 when was coming out. I guess Ultimate Blast made people somehow love RB2 for some random reason.

All of that stuff sounds awesome but I would imagine that it would take a whole full year for them to ever make a game like that. I won't mind them spending a whole year making one game then rush one out every fall or winter.

They hinted that the made DBZ For Kinect to buy time for making a better game for the next year, and they will probably consider adding some of the elements Nostal proposed.

One year? Any good game takes at least 4 years to develop. The only reason budokai 1 had those cutscenes was because they took their sweet time to make them. The reason there haven't been cutscenes like that anymore is exactly because of the one year release pattern.
