Fan-translations of oldschool DBZ games

Post by GS7X7 » Mon Aug 27, 2012 3:45 am

I'm curious but how many of the oldschool (pre-Budokai) DBZ games have fan translations? I know some of them looked pretty damn fun, especially that DBZ OVA NES game.

I love how some of the Japanese-exclusive DBZ Games had Polish Fan-Made translations. The dialogues were pretty funny there too, so the translators really knew how to make the game enjoyable. What i have on mind is Dragon Ball Z: Chou Saiya Densetsu for SNES

I remember years ago someone was working on an English patch for the OVA RPG.

I think this might make for a pretty interesting podcast episode or feature somewhere else. It'd be great to attract more interest in translating the games.

DAMN! Imagine if that was translated into English! An oldschool NES RPG starring a host of all-star SJump characters including Goku? Awesome as hell!

Sequel looks epic too!

I have always tried to play the old DBZ RPGs, but without a proper translation or port it was just a waste of time. I discussed this a bit in my forum, anyways here's a good resource for the old games (archive of Super Pope)!

No need to archive it, the original site is still up.

Btw, maybe the DBZ fan community could mod it themselves? Get some Japanese-savy hardcore fans and some game-modders anxious to help other fellow fans and secure a place in history/some props, and bam.

I love the NES games. I've got some translations. I even went into the graphics editor of DBZ2/3 and ported some graphics over to DBZ1 (where the graphics were a bit sucky). Did you also try the DBZ Barcode game on the NES? It has Raditz, Zarbon, Cell and SS2 Gohan!

There's also this Dragonball Z game I really like called Legendary Super Warriors. It's worth checking out!

I'm not the one who archived it, and to my knowledge the site has been known to be down a lot.
