The Daizenshuu EX Message Boards
I've been searching a long time for a community where the people are friendly and the conversation intelligent, and now I've found it. Huzzah!
For no other forum I've been to can I actually say that I've found a group of people who care about the show in a manner beyond the immature fandom I have found elsewhere. The love for Dragonball is real here, and genuine in every sense; there's a true sense of pride in the way people think and act here in regard to that show and anime in general, and I suppose that's something that makes this place truly unique.
I'm glad to have found a place where the endlessly debatable topics have already been weeded out. There aren't any subject titles headlined with "Why GT is Stupid," and you don't see any 500-post ramblings about which Buu was the strongest ("This conversation becomes more retardedly lame each time it happens.")
Hell, I can't even find any top ten lists about why FUNimation sucks @$$ . . . though perhaps I'm not looking hard enough for the last one. Heh.
Also . . . yes, I'll say it . . . I am very happy indeed to have found a place where it is actually preferred that we write and speak in a civilized manner. The rules in that regard are quite strict, but I'm glad that they are, because . . . well, it just irritates the @#$% out of me when someone posts in a way that makes me convinced I can't read. Considering the unusual etiquette of the average message board today, it's just incredible that a bunch of people from all over the world can come to a board, throw out a bunch of different ideas, have a few conflicting viewpoints and even some damn good arguments and still understand one another at all times the way they do here.
So just because I can, and because probably it's a nice thing to hear, I'll throw out a "thank you" to everyone here; the administrators, the monitors, the veterans and the newbies like myself . . . you truly have carved out your own unique corner of the Dragonball community, and I'm glad to be a part of it.
So, thank you.
(Li'l Lemmy, just talkin'.)
