A pointless re-dub change?

This was really bothering me last night while watching the re-dub. Why did they bother to change Yajirobe's line?

Original Dub: If I knew this was going to happen I wouldve eaten more jelly doughnuts.

Re-dub: If I knew this was going to happen I wouldve eaten more pizza and ice cream.

Does anyone, Julian or Rachel, know the original line?

It might have been to make him sound more like a regular ... shall we say "Person who likes to eat" than a stereotypical cop.

I think perhaps they could have been trying to reference back to that scene where he was stuffing his face and being interviewed on tv. I can't remember off hand everything that he had there other than some meat, but perhaps pizza and ice cream seemed more accurate to what was on the table?

In the Japanese version I saw it was "Damn, if I knew I was going to die here I should've eaten more pork buns", or something like that.

It was real stupid for them to change up the voices again in my opnion

They are saying almost the same lines

I don't care what they changed the food item too as long as the line remained the same, which it did.

He just says that he should have eaten ___ more.
