I was just asking a question what SaiyamanMS politely answered. Thank you SaiyamanMS.Sun_Wukong wrote:Son Goku, are you posting for the sake of getting your post count higher?
I figured this small text was sorta for personal notes and jokes
Wait, this rating thing seems strange. The second volume of the redub (the one with the Goku/Raditz impaling) is rated PG, yet one of the DVDs with the Cell Game filler (those were really tame episodes) is rated M? Wierd...
I also go by "veemonjosh".

Dog, they're in a whole different country. Not to mention that in our country you can buy porno's at gas stations and all of the "uncensored" programs broadcasted on television.Son Goku wrote:That still doesn't answer that a very violent dvd gets a MUCH lower rating than one that has little to no violence.Sun_Wukong wrote:Could it be possible that their rating system is different? I'm from Sydney, Australia.
Yes, it's true that ratings over here seem to be harsher than in other countries. It all depends on those people in government. We seem to have some politicians who are against certain things shown on television and the like. The DVD's are rated 'M' because they seem to think that 'uncut' means something bad.
And certain uncut versions of Grand Theft Auto on PC are not available here, most notably some bits of Vice City and San Andreas. I have a clip of CJ, doing the jiggy, every which way...it was quite hardcore for a game. You had to download a mod to unlock it.
But yes, Australia isn't the laidback country you people all seem to think it is. In certain areas anyway. What Gallagator said was absolutely correct. The bastards limit us to no end!
EDIT: On a side note, the 'M-15+' rating is considered 'recommended for mature audiences'. Basically anyone can watch an M-rated show. They just recommend it for that certain age or higher. When you go and see a film at the cinema, the 'MA-15+' rating which comes after M, means that it is only uitable for mature audiences. You need ID to view those films. R-18+ is well, for adult movies and other films with a hell of a lot of violence, gore etc.
Hope that clears it up!

I remember being told (don't quote me on this, by the way) that the overall M15+ rating on the DBZ DVDs was just Madman's way of making sure they didn't get in any trouble, though they've become more lenient with these things. Also people'd see M rated Dragonball and go nuts, thinking it was insanely different, which is wasn't.
In a similar situation, Madman were given a G (all ages, usually applied to children's shows) for FLCL vol 1, but voluntarily marked it as PG-15 to be safe and to avoid general confusion.
