Trunks Saga DVD

Post by dim_sum_boy » Fri Aug 12, 2005 11:45 pm

I just bought the 2 Trunks dvds. I want to ask you guys some questions. Is there anyway I can tell if the Mysterious Youth dvd is the re-released version?I want to know if the dvd is volume # 33a or volume # 33b.

As for the Prelude to Terror dvd, I know i got the re-released version because on the back of the dvd it said it was released in 2002. The Mysterious Youth I got was released in 2000.

If the splash on the front (where it says "Includes 2 versions") is the same, small text as your re-released "Prelude to Terror," then you have the 2nd version. If it's large (reaches from the yellow "leg" of the ship on the left all the way to the right of the front cover), it's the first version. Also, the date is 2000. Not to mention the subs and their ridiculous height on the initial version.

The Mysterious Youth dvd i got has the big text. So that means I got the 1st version right? The Prelude to Terror has the small text.

How come there isn't an image for volume # 33b in your dvd guide?

Good reason, VegettoEX...

Is there already a version guide? Maybe this seems to make one worthy? Lol, jk.

I can't understand you. If you're asking a question, end with a question mark. A complete sentence with some additional subjects in them would also be of help.

I have the corrected Mysterious Youth, with eyecatches and everything else, but the cover art is the same as the original version, and it still has a 2000 date. So you might actually have it too.

Has anyone ever seen the updated cover for Mysterious Youth? I just wonder because I used to post my scans of the updated PTT a lot, but I'd also like to see this one.

Yeah, that's probably the dvd I have. Could any post a picture of the re-released cover art of Mysterious Youth? Does both of the Trunks dvds has The World of DragonballZ extra or is it just one of them? Does anyone know if Funimation is planning to released the Trunks saga on a boxset?

I also found out on some sites that the 2 dvds were re-released in Feb. 5, 2002.

Just look at the back of the cover... The first release, had only three episodes, the remastered one has five, including the two extras included only in the Burger King Promo VHS. The one where the Z Fighters are preparing for the Androids' arrival and the one where ChiChi forces Goku and Piccolo to get their driver's licenses.

Are you being serious? I have the first release of both of the Trunks Saga DVDs. They both say 2000 on the back. Does the second release of Prelude to Terror or Mysterious Youth have those two episodes that are in the Z Warriors Prepare VHS? If so, I need to buy them immediately. I didn't think they were released yet, and maybe it would come out after all the other DBZ DVDs are released. Also, I've heard about the Captain Ginyu Saga being re-released as well. What are the differences in those?

Both of the Trunks dvd has been re-released. My Prelude to Terror dvd says its 2002 on the back with 5 episodes and my Mysterious Youth says 2000 on the back.

I seem to to got a re-released version of first trunks dvd with the correct eye catches but though it's printed 2000; like the version TripleRach has.

I can't believe I never knew about those two extra episodes and the DVDs being re-released. I just ordered the Prelude to Terror DVD from TRSI just now, which has the 5 episodes. I can't wait to receive it. BTW, were the Captain Ginyu DVDs re-released. I've heard something about them earlier. What are the changes made, if they were re-released?

No word from Funimation that the Captain Ginyu dvd will be
re-release. The only reason they might be re-release the Captain Ginyu dvd is that to fix eye catches. Some of the Frieza dvds were re-released but was never announce by Funimation.

RC315, your Avatar's probably gonna get deleted unless you change its size. Just giving you a heads up before EX gets it.

For the Ginyu re-release I bet they'd probably just wait and release it as part of the "Ultimate Uncut" Editions.

I also have a question, For the first Trunks Saga DVD: weren't there some quirks with the subtitles? I remember hearing something about it.

The first Trunks Saga DVD I have has the 2000 art box but I didn't see any difference when I watch both of the dvds. I believe the 1st Trunks DVD I have is a re-release but the dvd case is probably printed wrong.

How ironic! *tee-hee*

Anyways, I delved more into it and it seems some subtitles appeared kind of close to the center of the screen in the original release, something later fixed in the reauthored version.
