Dragonbox Multiple Audio Track help.

Post by DeadlyRhythm » Sat Dec 22, 2012 5:59 pm

Hey everyone, I was hoping someone here could help me out with something...

I had purchased the Dragonbox Movies from a fellow forum member here (shout out to Ex-Dubbie369!). Since I don't have a region free player to really watch them, I ripped them to my computer and encoded subtitle tracks into them using Handbrake.

I currently wish to rip the audio from my DVD singles of the movies, and have multiple audio tracks for each movie. However I'm having trouble getting the audio and video to sync up correctly. If anybody here could maybe help with some pointers or something I'd greatly appreciate it :D

Thanks!

Could you do a run through of what you've done in detail so we can have a better understanding of what the problem is also are you trying to rip the english dub from the Funimation DVD singles and splice that in with the Dragon Box footage?
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

Sure thing!

First I ripped the Dragon Box footage to my computer using handbrake as .mkv files. I then embedded subtitle tracks into those files (also using Handbrake). I decided to try and rip the english dub from a Funi dvd and splice it into the Dragon Box footage. That way, I could switch between the Japanese and English audio in the .mkv files.

Pretty much the issue I'm having is that I'm having trouble getting the english dub audio to sync up correctly with the footage. The audio lags behind the video a bit. I would like to know what the best way of going about doing this would be in order to get everything to sync up correctly.

You won't be able to accomplish it without re-encoding the audio in some capacity.

Your best bet is to bring the audio you want into a video editing program alongside the video track as-is. Edit the audio appropriately, whether that be moving it around a few frames, cutting out a few frames' worth here and there, etc.

Get it lined up to the video, re-export the new audio track, work from there, etc.!
