Jumpland Site Update: New News?
Jumpland got revamped. I can't read Japanese though, so I don't know whether there is any new info. Sure looks cool, though. Anyone know if there's any news? Willing to translate?

Here's a link to the Google translation. The translation sucks, though. I can't really find out anything from it. Here it is:

EDIT:
Remember we all thought that the discs would be 3990 yen? Well, they are, but Amazon.co.jp is selling them for something like 3190. This amounts to about 28 dollars (I used XE.com--someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

Hm...unless I'm mistaken, the "Schedual" section says that the first three DBZ discs will be released on Nov. 2nd. The next three will be released on December 7th.
Find me on:

Totally freakin' sweet. Now it's time to decide weather or not to buy them rightoff, or wait for cheaper second hand ones (though I doubt very much they'll ship outside of Japan
)
I am wondering what the coverart will be like, but given that Japanese releases have access to lots of things American ones don't, I'll expect nothing but the best.

Re: Jumpland Site Update: New News?
Hmm... 6 episodes per volume for the first 9 volumes. Pretty nice.
I wish they had something about the Movie Box up, but right now, the navigation image for that section is just an image, and nothing more.

I just got an email from my JP suppier, regarding DB / DBZ / DBGT UMDS! They will be coming out the same time as the "MOVIE DVD BOX." I must collect that also. To have all the db/dbz/dbgt/movies in a UMD BOXSET would be kool! DB PORTABLE VIDEOS for my collection. We can now watch any ep we want, anytime, anywhere.
UMD is a new Video format for the SONY PSP, for those who don't know what an UMD is. You get 2-3 eps per UMD disc.
Funimation is starting this November to release DBZ on UMD. 2005 & 2006 is going to be an expensive. To buy all the dbz on "UMD region1" & "UMD region2" - Source from my Funimation Distributor flyer.
PS: with 3 consoles to buy in 2005 & another 4 next year. + my DBZ hobby = this is going to kill my bank. With the new consoles: I also need a new HDMI HDTV. I might need 2 of them. From now till 2005~2008. So much saving and shopping. At least, in OCT: DBZ Sparking will keep us warm and happy! only 2 months to go.

We got a real battle on the dance floor!
170 UMDs (508 episodes split with 3 episodes each) at $20.00 (guess) VS 170 DVDs at $30.00
Complete UMD collection = $3400.00
Complete DVD colection = $5100.00
If you got the entire trilogy, you would save a grand total of $1700 dollars! (This is not counting the fact that Dragonball DVDs are in boxset form and thus would be cheaper than UMDs.)

Well to be fair, considering the overall average retail price of DBZ DVDs were around $25 as opposed to $30, well.. eh. Then again I don't see something as large as DBZ staying around on UMD forever since it's not going to be a long-living medium. Perhaps the movies and a sort of "best of" collection, like the R2 Fist of the North Star perhaps? (FotNS had a 26 or so DVD release, and then three "best of, climax battle" discs).
Adding also that the retail price for many funimation discs have dropped to around 10-15 each.

The UMD format is not going to fade away. This format is for PSP. Blueray & UMD are the formats of the future. The UMD pricing for the DBZ movies/eps will be $15~20 USD each.
To answer that quesion: a DB fan/collector would buy the UMD-collection. yes i will. In Spring 2006: we get to see what the DBZ game on PSP looks like.

Lets just say there were 23 UMDs released of the series in "Best of" collections. Here's what I think they would be:
1. The 21st Budokai
2. The Dr. Slump crossover!
3. Fall of the Red Ribbon Army
4. Baba
5. The 22nd Budokai
6. King Piccolo's death
7. The 23rd Budokai
8. Defeat of Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta
9. Defeat of the Ginyu force
10. SSJ Goku and Frieza's temporary defeat
11. Trunks
12. Defeats of 19 and 20
13. SSJ 2 Gohan and Cell's death
14. Goten vs Trunks and Battle Royal
15. Fat Buu
16. Gotenks and Vegetto
17. "The universal Genkai-dama -- If this doesn't stop Majin Buu, nothing will!" (would be nice for a UMD with the DB style of titles
)
18. Uub
19. Black Star Dragonballs
20. Baby
21. Super 17
22. Evil Dragons
23. DBGT 64 with the TV special included
1. The 21st Budokai
2. The Dr. Slump crossover!
