Most memorable DBZ-related fanfiction
Most memorable DBZ-related fanfiction
I remember I once read a fanfiction in which Goku travels back in time to save Anne Frank and battle Adolph Hitler who, inexplicably, go Super Saiyan. (or what I thought of as "Super Nazi") Afterwards, he marries her!
It didn't seem to have been written as a joke but maybe just as something a really young fanfiction DBZ writer made after reading Anne Frank's diary and feeling bad for her and wanting to rewrite history.
So... what are some of the most memorable DBZ fanfictions you can think of? Whether it's because they were bizarre, hilarious, or just really good?

Re: Most memorable DBZ-related fanfiction
Holy crap, I've READ that, I'm sad to say. I found it linked on TV Tropes I think, and I thought they had to be kidding me...I found out very quickly that they did not.
As far as completely off the wall stuff goes, I remember one that I read once where Goku and Majin Vegeta actually stopped their fighting and did rush over to stop Boo's revival, instead of Vegeta just knocking Goku out, only to get there just as the 'egg' hatched...and, well, let's just say this Boo wasn't exactly who we're used to. He was this guy instead. Gotta love Animaniacs, but not in my DBZ...
Then there was this other one where during the Cell Games, due to the power struggle between Goku and Cell, an unexpected visitor showed up to fight Cell instead of Gohan...a certain visitor who came up from the depths, 30 stories high, breathing fire, his head in the sky - GODZILLA. GODZILLA. (And Godzuki...okay, no, he wasn't there). Cell even tried to absorb the Big G. It didn't end well for him. I want to say this one had some kind of bizarre sequel that also crossed over with Harry Potter...again, insane stuff.
As far as actually memorable for being good, I honestly can't think of anything outside of Kaboom's. I know I've read some, but I haven't read much fanfiction for a few years now, so I can't remember anything 'good' really. Just the duds.

You know what? If we're going to mention obscure, ancient fanfictions then we should hunt them down and post them for others to be able to read too!

I know it's an... well, odd story, but how many of us were Stephen Kings when we were 9 years old?

Good idea! Hmm...I did find some Godzilla/DBZ fics looking on FFNet, but none of them are the one I'm remembering. As for the Animaniacs one though...
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/432/1/Majin-Boo
Yeah...much more of a ficlet than a full fic, but what do you expect for a premise like this?

Re: Most memorable DBZ-related fanfiction
I remember reading some really weird AF fanfics years ago that were to stupid for me to begin to describe.
However I also remember reading some really good (or at least I thought so at the time) Shojo-ai fanfics a long time ago. It featured some odd pairings like Pan (who was between 14 and 16) and #18.
From what I can remember they were really descriptive with an elegant use of imagery. But i was like 12 when I read them so if I ever came across them again I'd probably have a different opinion.

I don't remember who but I know there was once this humor writer who did really hilarious fanfictions. He did one where a fanatical otaku ("it's like putting pants on the Mona Lisa!" an obscure reference to a fan-submitted editorial on DBZU, lol) is explained why Funimation isn't pure evil, and another one in which he tried to troll readers by using a pseudonym to make "the worst DBZ fan fiction ever" which ended with the lines ("and then Majin Buu and Pan got married.")
I lack the links, but I think laser kid knows who I'm talking about.

Re: Most memorable DBZ-related fanfiction
I remember reading this AF fanfic YEEEAAARRRSSS ago back in my early days of using the Internet, which I wish I could track down if someone else here has read it.
Basically, it's an after GT type of fic where Goku comes back years later, a time where everyone has grown quite old by this point. Due to his bonding with the Dragon Balls, he was able to grant anyone's wishes, including even turning #18 fully Human. I think he also restored everyone to their prime as well. When he asked Chi-Chi if she wanted to be wished younger, she denied the offer.
I can't remember the in-between but in a chapter saga, an evil Gogeta turns up to which Super Saiyan 5 is finally discovered which is used to defeat him. Gogeta then becomes one of the good guys, almost like Vegeta in terms of personality.
In a few chapters after that, they all decide to enter the new tournament coming up, it's there though that they meet 2 or 3 new enemies which even Gogeta can't harm.
After that, I can't remember any more details. Writing was amateurish from what I can remember but not to the point it was unreadable.

Re: Most memorable DBZ-related fanfiction
I just vaguely remembered one that was in existence once back in the early 90s, but thankfully, no copy of it exists. It was never posted online. How do I know about it? ...*sighs* Because I wrote it.
Okay, I was like 11, okay? I had just gotten into the show. The whole 'WAAZZZUUUPPPPP' slang was popular at the time. And I really liked the Ginyu Force, from what little I had seen of them. So I had this insane idea of writing a story where a group of new goofy but powerful people showed up...called...The Wazzup Gang.
...Yeah, I think I'll just go hide in a corner for now. I was young!
To make matters worse, I wasn't even doing truly proper fanfic writing at the time. I was doing it like script format. So it looked something like this probably.

I could not be happier that this text no longer exists outside of my vague memories of writing it...Goku: They're so strong! How are we ever going to beat them?
Vegeta: I don't know Kakarot...it may be impossible!
*Goku and Vegeta both went into fighting positions as the Wazzup Gang laughed*
Random Stupidly Created Bad Guy: WAZZZZUUUPPPPP!
*He powers up*

Re: Most memorable DBZ-related fanfiction
The most memorable fanfic I've read was, SURPRISE, an erotic Bulma and Vegeta fic by a writer who goes by the name Tempestt. Believe it or not but at the time I wasn't interested in erotic fan fics. Most were just plain terrible and I just stuck to "what-if's" and cheesy romance stories. But for some reason I decided to read an adult BxV fic, they were a dime a dozen and they all had virtually the same plot, "what really happen in those three years".
Well, this one was no different. The story took place during the same three years like what everyone else was writing but this on was... better. So much better I should add that I started writing my own erotic fanfics (not DB related though). There was something about it that I just ate up. It could be the fact that it was dirtier then you'r average romance fanfic fluff It felt like an adult wrote it and knew women have dirty fantasies as well. It wasn't nice, sweet, or even romantic at times it was just straight up erotica that wasn't terribly written.
Looking back on it now, it's probably not the best adult fic out there but I still love it.

Holy crap, I remember those as well, now that you mention them. The only line I can remember is something where Cell got pulled over and he swears to Kami that 'there's no blood in my alcohol stream, ossifer'. Re: Most memorable DBZ-related fanfiction
It's not strictly a 'fanfiction' per say, but I just stumbled across one of the most insane...asinine...things that I remember reading back in the early days of my being a fan. I was honestly shocked that it was even still online in any form.
http://www.angelfire.com/anime3/gojita/dragonaf.html
Keep in mind, reading this will make your head hurt. A lot. Not only because of the awful red text on black background, but it is just THAT insane. You will walk away wondering what the hell the Trix rabbit and Tenchi had to do with anything. It's...y-yeah...
Also, I'm declaring 'Gogetunkandiecenllinbuucha' to be the greatest insanity ever created, and I dare someone to even begin contemplating what that would look like and see if they can draw it without their entire body just failing.
