Earthlings not being aware of the Z Fighters

How come most of the Earth population isn't aware of the existence (and power!) of the Z Fighters?

Before the Cell Games the King of Earth remembered Goku from seeing him in the Piccolo Daimao Saga, but most other people didn't remember.

After the Cell Games, everyone should know about the Z Fighters since they were on television.

Well maybe it was because they didn't recognize Goku in his Super Saiyan state. As for the others well, I don't know. Maybe they weren't focusing on them in preference for Mr. Satan and Goku and Gohan's weird hairdoes?

I hate to be the guy who says this but......They're all idiots.

But yeah, kind of weird that nobody knew about Ki and such in the Boo arc when in the Tenkaichi Budokais, there were Kamehamehas and Kikohos all over the place. I don't know if they were televised though. Maybe people spread the word but it ultimately concluded that they were tricks.

Maybe it's for the better that they're not aware of them; I imagine Goku and friends' lives would get a lot more complicated if everyone suddenly knew such people existed; they'd be mobbed like celebrities the way Mark is and I don't think many if any of the group would like that.
