Attack of the Saiyans sequel?

Post by Eternal Super Saiyan » Sun Mar 03, 2013 4:39 pm

Just asking.. is there ever going to be a continuation on Attack of the Saiyans in the Namek/Android Sagas? Because that would be totally epic.

After beating this game, I felt as if it wasn't enough, not to mention they even showed in image of Frieza right after the credits. So far I haven't seen any info on a sequel but I believe it was once brought up as a topic?

Secondly, Attack of the Saiyans is one of the best DBZ games I've played up to date, along with Budokai 3 and Infinite World. It would be a shame to not do another one

2013 Dragon Ball Games:
* 3DS - Dragon Ball Heroes Ultimate Mission
* PS3 - Project Versus J

Still no announcement of the yearly DBZ game that Namco Bandai brings out, hasn't yet been announced neither by FaceBook nor YouTube. Strange that NB's taking time, or maybe there's no yearly 2013 DBZ game (the devs are allowed to spend more time on the DBZ game than just one year or months).
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

They said that they are going to give details about the next game when the FaceBook page reaches 100.000 likes. They have also hinted in the past that the reason we didn't get any real new video game in 2012 was because they were working on a new game for more than just one year, so that it can be better than the recent ones.

They are definitely making a 2013 console game.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Pfft, I wish. That was such a tease at the end, but I guess we should expect something like that in a game about a series that's already finished. Sort of a "You know what's coming next!" kind of thing. I would wonder how they could apply the RPG style to the Namek arc though. Also, the first game had a Kai branding in Japan, would that carry over to a sequel? Maybe they'd just drop it and act like it was never there.

One thing certain is that it was a more popular game in Japan. not many copies sold in America, but I don't care about that aspect. I would do just fine with a Jap import if they did a sequel.

Also, Super Saiyan Goku would kick total butt in a sequel. The fighting system was badass to begin with. I am someone who doesn't normally like RPG's and I loved this game.

They would have those many likes if they went with YouTube's likes, because pretty much every Dragon Ball fan has an account there, and for comments, some guy could just start an idiotic internet war on the comment section and it'd never end. Win-win for them.

It's been nearly three years since release. If a sequel was coming, it would've been announced (and likely released) by now.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

I don't think it was a popular game despite it's good reviews. I guess it didn't sell that great since the game's length could have turn people off.

I thought the company that made AotS no longer existed?

They just did Project X Zone and Super Robot Taisen OG Saga. Both games came out over a year ago.

And Project X Zone still has yet to be released in USA this summer.

Nah man, Monolith Studios is still alive and kicking. Your probably thinking of Game Republic who developed Ultimate Butoden for DS.

I'm pretty sure if that developer did Attack of the Saiyans, it wouldn't have turned out as good :) just my opinion

Well they did. I've never played any of their games but I believed they derived from Square (Xeno series). So I'd say they have a pretty good track record. But different strokes I guess.

Ah, that's probably it. Thanks. :)

In that case... well, damn. We really should have gotten a damn sequel!

I seriously can't imagine, what will they include in sequel (if it was in the works), as this game was frankly recycling the best of Dragon Ball's early adventures..... And it worked for early part of Z.
